Searching for traces... (Mission: Ulquiorra and Luna)

This is a plot related mission for Ulquiorra and Luna Flores, Do not post here if you are neither of them. Simple really ^^ Also Luna and Ulquiorra if you are to fight anybody they will be nameless NPC characters most likely seated officers, no lieutenants or captains for obvious reasons xD. Wehn this thread is done/if it is done in time you can join the event in karakura but before you do you must pm me so i can put you in the battle. ^^ Ulq you will lead this mission ^^

A meteor fell down from the sky, while it was in fact two high level spirits the impact caused a crater where they fell, Rukongai had never been a enjoyable experience for Ulquiorra, that`s right this is not the first time Ulquiorra came to rukongai, long ago when he was still but a hollow he spent days withouth an end in the Rukongai hunting spirits of advanced spiritual pressure, some which where known as shinigami... others where simply easy meal. But those days where since long passed, and Ulquiorra prefferred to keep it that way, as they came crashing down into a thick deep forest, Ulquiorra took note of the landscape before they crashed, the crash caused a loud explosion on impact but they where miles away from any spirits that could have taken note of their spiritual pressures, Ulquiorra had however kept his spiritual pressure on a tight leash, it would never hurt to be a bit extra careful.

As the smoke started to clear Ulquiorra started to move up from the slope walking with determinated steps from the crater a figure stood behind him but Ulquiorra took no note of it, as he came up from the crater he took a quick look around, seeing nothing but a dense forest around him ...Incognita-sama has put a lot of trust in us she expects nothing less than sucsess from this mission, now... listen up im not going to brief this mission more than once... Aizen fought here, somewhere we need to locate the area and track any traces of their spiritual pressure, stay at high alert at all times, we are in enemy territory... ... Ulquiorra kept his arms in his pockets while he told her the details of this mission. Not looking at Luna because he was too busy scanning the surroundings... this mission is for Aizen`s behalf we can not let his sacrifice go in vain, that is all... do you understand? When he finished speaking he turned to look at luna for a brief moment narrowing his eyes.

He then turned heel and started to walk off into the forest around them, Ulquiorra had seen an open field before they landed he thought that might be a good place to start searching.

Luna had remained silent every since they had left the halls of Las Noches, going onto a mission given to them directly by Incognita. Luna had never seen the woman on the same level as Aizen, but she respected her greatly for having taken over for him. The only one who even came into the same range as her god was her current master. One of her reasons was that he was one of Aizen`s beloved espada, the only one still remaining not counting grimmjow that was a fraccion now. There were several others, but she had never had time to pin point what exactly they were. Luna lifted her head a little as she saw they were approaching the ground, pushing her thoughts aside. As they crashed, she quickly dusted herself off and followed Ulquiorra up from the crater, making sure to suppress her reaitsu. While her reaitsu was not as big as his, it was still on espada level..even the slightest feeling of hollow reaitsu would cause the shinigami to send someone to check up on it.Unlike Ulquiorra that had been to Soul Society and the real world before, Luna had never left the kingdom of hollows. She was young considering her strength, barely being 220. She had only spend a few decades in the desert before god had taken her in, had he not she might have traveled to here or the human world in order to feast.

As the slightly taller espada stopped for a brief moment, she forced her gaze away from the trees and looked at him. Every word said was taken in...this mission was important, but it caused Luna to wonder why she had sent them here. She quickly pushed the thoughts aside as her master briefly laid his cold eyes on her, saying that the mission was on Aizen`s behalf, and that it should no go in vain.

"I understand...I will not fail Aizen-sama, Incognita-sama..or Ulquiorra-sama". She shared eye contact with him for a moment, before sliding her right hand around the handle of her sword, keeping her guard up as told. Following him through through the forest with only two feet between them, she looked around. keeping an eye out. Not only was she happy over being on such an important mission..but the fact that they might could find something related to her god was almost overwhelming. Just feeling the smallest fragment of his reaitsu would easen her heart. Having seen the large open area as well, she figured they must be heading for there.

After a moment of walking trough the dark and dense forest which was an entireley new experience in itself probably for luna it was in these woods that Ulquiorra had stalked for his prey, a perfect place for a medium level hollow to hunt, back then his appearence had not been much different from Luna`s resureccion form.

As they walked they came out to a grass field that streched across the landscape still surrounded by the large forest, the forest in this area seemed to dominate the view, strong winds blew across the grass covered fields which caused the grass to blow in waves, Ulquiorra took little note but placed his arm on the ground searching for possible traces, but so far he found nothing, normally Ulquiorra would have told luna to split up but out here it was better to keep close the place was big and it could take a lot of time to scatter across the area, rather than do that Ulquiorra decided to track down any sign of trampled grass or cut branches which would have meant that people where or had been around earlier on guard duty... either the shinigami no longer came this far out or they really lacked dicipline where they slacking off just because they had won a war? assumptions at this point was meaningless instead Ulquiorra continued across the field of grass scanning the area for anything out of ordinary, he also decided to keep his pesquisa hidden and at such weak levels that it would be nearly impossible to trace it even for a captain altrough this caused some risks that he might not be able to detect anyone who would attack them from behind if it came to that, altrough Luna was watching his back now...

Luna remained silent as they walked through the clutter of trees, keeping her guard on. She hated to admit it...but so far, this Soul Society was beautiful. Having only heard tales of the human world and the Soul Society from Aizen, she had a hard time believing she was here. She began to wonder, if Aizen had won the war..would he have allowed for her to visit this place? Impossible thoughts of her exploring these forests with Wonderweiss began to fill her head. Luna still kept her guard up and forced herself to think on something else. Through her memories from her life before Las Noches was not clear, she still remembered her first encounter with the shinigami. When she was a spirit, a kind human male had taken her under his wing and had helped her to find a shinigami so she would´t turn into a hollow. It took them weeks to locate one, and when they did, the shinigami had simply tried to kill her since her chain of fate had eaten itself up. The human had died protecting her, and she had eaten the shinigami in anger. She had lived most of her life in loneliness and hunger, her desire to find an end to her loneliness being the thing that had brought her to the surface of the white desert.

She was brought out of thoughts as they entered a wide open grass field that was surrounded by the trees. The strong winds quickly caught a hold of her hair, causing it to blow around her in its own little dance. Not bothering to keep her hair under control, she watched as he bend down to search for any reaitsu signature`s. Since he didn`t say anything or look in any specific direction, it meant he had found nothing, for now at least.

The shinigami...where are they? Should`t they have reacted to the crash?. Even through she had only encountered very few shinigami in her life, she already hated them, with the exception of Aizen and the two rouge captains that had followed him to Las Noches. There was one certain shinigami that she had never meet, but wanted to kill with her bare hands. The shinigami named Kurosaki Ichigo. He had been the one that had slayed Ulquiorra..he had been the one whom had taken her god away.

A group of birds suddenly took air from a tree not more than thirty feet away from them. Out of instinct she stepped up in front of Ulquiorra, having her fingers firmly grabbing the handle of her sword.

Ulquiorra would have assumed that the shinigami where busy doing something else, at this very moment soul society must have been a busy place but there where several reasons for them not to have noticed the meteor earlier, first they where very far away from soul society, second he knew Soul society had other matters at hand or at least soon would, As Ulquiorra continued to walk across the field he noticed trampled grass, someone had passed by here less than a day ago, the reitsu smelled shinigami...

Ulquiorra narrowed his eyes briefly when Luna asked him a question regarding the shinigami, altrough Ulquiorra could have picked a more silent way to enter rukongai he was fully aware that it might have attracted unwanted attention, that in itself was the very reason why he did it, and yet no shinigami where in sight. That`s right... he commented that only means that they are busy unless they have become careless, at the very least we don`t have to expect any captain`s to show up... That Ulquiorra was quite certain. He noticed luna reacting to the flock of birds taking air, Ulquiorra could not blame her for being on guard but still a bit over reacting, he stepped forward and held his arm up before Luna fool, our enemy is the shinigami... or did you mistake them for birds? Ulquiorra stared at her over his shoulder with an empty emotionless face, she probably did not remeber anything of the world of the living or her previous life.

As they continued to travel past the field and back into a forest Ulquiorra followed the traces and tracks of the shinigami, it was the only lead he had, he came up to an old asian style altair that seemed abandoned he searched for any traces here as well but found nothing, except a stench of shinigami, their reitsu was quite nearby now come this way Ulquiorra started to walk along a trail that lead from the temple, at the end of the trail yet another open field revealed to them, but this field was very different than the last one had been. Instead of grass, there where huge stacks of rock, the terrain was very rough and it seemed like no life could grow here, now if one looked carefully one could tell that this was or had been a battle field of Titans Aizen-sama fought here he claimed as he stepped forward to gaze down into the wasteland like field his arms in his pockets. He could sense it even from here, Aizen-sama`s reitsu, and the hyogoku`s reitsu, they where somehow combined or so it felt like, but not traces of his foes reitsu how could that be? no matter, as Ulquiorra was about to take a closer look at the site he felt numerous spirits nearby closing in on their location from all directions, 1... 2. 3... 4... 5.. 6... 7... 12 shinigami, they where outnumbered by 6 to 1 yet they had the advantage, these shinigami where weak, probably not even seated, they needed to die now for seeing them Luna... clean them up please... he said as if speaking of trash. He used sonido to dissapear down to the site with a loud booming sound...

Two of the shinigami decided to follow Ulquiorra who are you? what are you doing here! asked their apparent leader who was at least a 9th seat judging by his reitsu. are you arrancars? once they noticed that Ulquiorra left to the site one of the two yelled at him are you trying to escape? he plowed his sword at Ulquiorra the man was fairly well built and thought that they must have been weak, such fools their over confidece would be their demise. Ulquiorra made a 180degree turn and easily avoided the Zanpakto but instead puncturing the mans chest with his bare arm, he used a single bala to shoot the other man behind the first one blowing his right arm and 1/3 of his chest away, Ulquiorra pulled out his arm getting rid of the blood with a swift move of his arm... he still kept his right arm in his pocket while he kneeled down on one knee to intercept the reitsu now.

Luna, still being taken back by the fact that he had actually responded to her open question, lifted her gaze a little as stepped forward her and lifted his arm. As he coldly spoke his words, she lowered her head a little, yet kept her hand around the handle of her sword. "..I mistaked them for birds..". She kept her guard up as they slowly began to walk again, remaining silent. There had been no reason to defend herself against his words. The fact that he had kept the sentence short and only called her fool (which was higher than trash), meant he had probably understood her overreaction.

As their travel eventually let them through an old asian styled temple, she looked a little at it while walking. She began to wonder how the rest of soul society looked. From what god had told, most of the buildings was styled in the traditional Japanese way, some having sliding doors and such. Was there any chance for her to see it, or would it be destroyed first? As Ulquiorra stopped, so did she.

It was not because he had stopped that she had...it was because she felt two all to familiar reaitsu`s. Luna placed a hand over her chest and felt the nagging pain in her heart ease a little. "Aizen-sama and the hyogoku...". Even through her words had mumbled, they were loud enough to be heard by him. Luna felt a single tear slide down her left cheek and smiled to herself. "..It must have been beautiful..". No one could really blame Luna for acting that way...she had been born by the Hyogoku, and Aizen was a man she saw as her god. She stepped up on Ulquiorra`s side and felt the approaching signals as well. As her master began to speak again, she already knew what would be said.

"Hai".

She observed as Ulquiorra used sonido and appeared in the rocky field. Two of the shinigami where arrogant enough to actually split away from the formation and head for him. Judging by the reaitsu, one of the two were the leader. Luna was a little dissapointed, non of these knew shikai. She knew that a shikai and bankai was diffrent from shinigami to shinigami, which had caused her endless curosity to spark. Remebering her orders again, she withdrew her blade and held it down towards the field. A dark purple reaitsu began to surrond it. "oscura serpiente"(dark snake). The reaitsu shot out from her blade in a large stream and connected with the ground of the rocky field. The reaitsu formed into a 15 foot long, and 7 feet wide snake with icy blue eyes like herself. The snake began to move around the area, killing off the already retreating shinigami. As it killed them, a sudden parteren was noticed...it never attacked once, it always attacked at least three times in order to make the victem suffer the most.

Luna, whom was controlling the snake`s movement with her right hand that was hidden by the long sleeve, felt a sudden..joy? Here she was, killing shinigami on the very same battlefield that Aizen-sama had fought. Three sudden battle roars broke her out of thoughts. The three last remainning shinigami was running directly towards her from behind, the fright in their eyes being almost amusing. As their blades were swung into her back, they didn`t even cut the uniform. "Wh-what?!", the only female of the three spurted out, barely being able to hold onto the katana. "Its espad-". The shounting male was cut off when Luna`s blade penatrated his skull, sending blood gushing out on the green grass.

"Espada? I`m merely a fraccion serving her master..". After speaking her words, she swiftly swung her blade again, cutting the tall male shinigami across the back, sending him dead to the ground. "Haku, Ryou!?", the surpringly young female said while looking towards Luna. Luna and her shared eye contact for a moment, before Luna grabbed her by the collar, using sonido to appear 5 feet from Ulquiorra. She threw the shinigami onto the ground and directed her snake over to her. With 9 feet wide head, the snake easily ate the young female. Luna shiftily moved the blade to the right, removing the blood from her sword. Sliding it inside her holster again, she walked up to his side, the snake always being within a feet from her. Having hurried to return to his side, she haden`t noticed the droplet of blood still remaining on her cheek.

"It is done, Ulquiorra-sama".

IC: Ulquiorra examined the ground with the highest concentration of reitsu carefully, the spirit particles he could gather where plentiful in number even visible to the naked eye when he gathered it between his fingers, he knew now what to do the traces he found could simply be located back to their origin Aizen or the other, the Hyogoku in this case, Ulquiorra glanced at the field before him before he turned to look at Luna again she spoke too much with the enemies but it did not matter they where dead now.

Once she was done she appeared at his side again claiming that she was done indeed they where dead, each and everyone of them, before they would leave Ulquiorra decided to ask his fraccion a question ... well done.... he commented at her work ... how did it feel? to kill shinigami i mean? as he asked he snapped his fingers together once opening a garganta... the ripple in space widened to reach the height of twice as tall as Ulquiorra and twice the lenght as the height making the garganta appear quite big, as the garganta splitted open and kept widening across the landscape it gave out a very omnious sound, Ulquiorra closed his eyes and continued to walk trough the garganta while awaiting Luna`s reply as well as her to follow him, the darkness surrounded him perfectly as he walked on solid reirokyo that builded up infront of his steps, the perfect square like shape made it a rather comfortible ground to walk along, like a sidewalk it was, its peculiar shape yet solid surface made people understand that he could perfectly control how he built and used the reitsu, the garganta closed up rather fast behind them as they headed towards Karakura town.

"How it felt?", she repeated out loud as he opened the garganta for them. Luna slided the katana into the holster again, as well as canceling the snake. There was no reason for it to be out in a garganta, it would only take up space. She surpressed her reaitsu again, having let it leak a little due to the release of her snake. It was in these kind of missions that Luna was useful. Being fully cable of fighting without having to release, made her good at taking out enemies without given away her reaitsu which a release usually would do. While her powers were weaker in sealed, they were easily strong enough to take out these kind of low seated officers. She could have done it with her bare hands if she haden`t hated shinigami to much.

"It felt wonderful...to kill the shinigami that had slain Aizen-sama`s beloved espada..". She resisted the urge to suddenly smirk and followed him closely through the darkness, her own path being almost as flawless as his. They were heading to Karakura huh? She wondered how her master would react..after all, she knew how a certain human girl had affected him.
