Bount Application:
Name:Zanmato Jishaku
Alias/Nicknames: The Bount Leader
Age:21
Visual Age:21
Sexuality:Male
Relationship status:Single
Appearance: To describe his skin color, Zan has skin the color of milk chocolate. That is, it is a lighter shade of the color brown. This is a result of not only genetics, but the fact that he is always training, reading, playing, and otherwise doing everything under the sun...while the sun is beaming down upon him.
The Bount has red eyes, like the moon as it goes through a lunar eclipse. He has silver hair that he likes to keep long, sometimes down to the middle of his back, and on occasion, in a ponytail. His bangs can sometimes cover his eyes if he is not careful. His hair grows back quickly if he cuts it, so sometimes he does cut it just to test out his appearance.
At the moment he favors a darker wardrobe; a dark grey shirt that is covered by a long black trench coat, black slacks that are secured by an equally black belt, gloves (black), and black boots. The look is completed by the relatively new addition of black sunglasses.
Height:6’ 0"
Personality: Zanmato is a relatively good guy, albeit the fact that he likes to pull a practical joke every now and then again. Long ago, Zan decided that he preferred to be a balanced type of person, instead of choosing to be one of the true good bount or truly evil ones. To this day, he’s always watching those whom he has deemed good and evil, in the attempt to measure which path would be the more suitable for him. Should he be the type who would help someone even at the cost of his own life? Or should he be the type of person that would send his own teammates to their deaths with the right motivation?
Choices...choices...
So far, the thin line between good and evil seems to be the safest, easiest path to power and happiness, so it is the path that Zan has chosen to follow so far. The Captain prefers the presence of few over many, and enjoys being alone quite a bit of the time. He is the type of guy who would commit a great crime, then turn around and prevent a terrible tragedy, all just to see the results of his actions.
Whenever he can get spare time, Zanmato enjoys to read, and to train, often at the same time. This is of course, when he doesn’t have his blindfold on (extra training purposes). Zan dislikes arrogance, and sees it as the downfall of many a great bount. However, he does have a lot of self confidence, which is evident when he is on missions, or even when he is simply training with others by way of his commanding, nonchalant aura.
But, he does have a weakness in his shell, being that he is somewhat shy, especially around girls his age, although at the age that he is now, that point is somewhat moot. This is perhaps because of the fact that he is quite reserved. Zanmato is cunning, clever, and analytical, making him one bount that is not to be trifled with. And he almost never goes into a situation without a plan, regardless of how bad the situation seems to be.
Zan’s leadership style is a direct reflection of his personality, as it should be. It consists of issuing commands (normally from the front lines), and becoming involved in the battle soon thereafter, essentially being the epitome of a ‘Lead by Example’ type. This combined with his intellectual traits and his aura of confidence most typically leads to his men possessing a great faith in their Leader and high morale because of it.

History: This is the official story on the Bounts which serves as a sort of prologue for Zan’s own Story.
- Spoiler:
The Bounts were created by Ran'Tao as the accidental result of an explosion during an experiment by the predecessor to the Seireitei Technological Institute. The experiment was an attempt to develop eternal life using the already slow-aging Shinigami souls as the base, but the materials used in the experiment crossed with the development of souls in the real world and led to the creation of a new spiritually-active Human race, the Bounts.
The Bount souls were scattered about the world, giving rise to a new race that never aged after reaching their twenties or thirties. They were generally treated as outcasts due to the fact that they did not age. The Shinigami scientist responsible for their creation, Ran'Tao, gathered most of the Bount into a small community in a secret cave structure, several centuries before the main storyline. It was her intent to improve the quality of life for the people whose suffering she felt responsible for.
However, the embarrassment of this accidental creation, as well as the fact that a tenth of Seireitei was destroyed in the resulting explosion and the possible threat they posed to the balance between the worlds, led the Chamber of 46 to rule that the experiment and its failure was to be covered up, and the Bounts destroyed. Shinigami were dispatched to kill the Bount community, but a handful survived, including a young boy saved by Ran'Tao herself, to whom she gave a seal that would help unlock the Bounts' true power.
The Bounts who survived the massacre wandered like nomads and eventually fell prey to constant attacks byHollows. It was during this time that the boy, who would later become known as Jin Kariya, activated the seal's power and merged with his doll - the Bount equivalent to a Shinigami's Zanpakutō - and killed off the attacking Hollows. The survivors eventually found refuge in another cave and began devising a plan to return to Soul Society, which they saw as more of a home than the real world ever could be. Eugene, now an adult, was against this plan. He had witnessed the massacre and believed the only thing that would await the Bounts if they returned to Soul Society would be subservience or death. Regardless, the Bounts' leadership decided to gain access to Soul Society by means of the Quincys' power. The Quincy were unwilling to assist, and a battle ensued, in which the Quincy and Shinigami killed most of the surviving Bounts.
Further infuriated by this, Eugene took the last few surviving Bount, all of whom were of a similar mindset to him, and began plotting revenge on Soul Society. These Bounts managed to perfect the control of their dolls, and by the time of the main storyline Eugene, now going by the alias, Jin Kariya, was ready for vengeance.
Unfortunately, Kariya's plan was doomed to failure, as most of the Bounts he assembled were either killed by the Shinigami and their allies or rebelled against him and was forced to kill them. The only Bount that wasn't killed was Gō Koga, who ironically ended up living with the Bount's creator, Ran Tao.
At least, this is the official story. Unbeknownst to the rest of the Bounts, Jin Kariya actually knew that there was a strong chance that his plans might end in failure and that it was possible that he might die. In fact, one might say that he was looking forward to his own demise. And so, many years before the start of the main story-line, Kariya began training an apprentice; a Bount who might take his place as Leader when he died, should it ever come to that. That apprentice was none other than Zanmato Jishaku. The reason that Jin did not simply hand this one off to another Bount as he had done with Cain was simple: Zanmato showed an uncanny and highly powerful and useful ability. In addition to being able to summon a doll, his doll was able to summon powerful familiars driven by the energies of enemies that Zanmato himself had slain, and showed many other potentially useful abilities, such as the power to heal wounds instantly, the power to absorb reishi and reiatsu from enemies as well as the area around him, and others.
In time, Zanmato became a powerful Bount, and by the time of the main story was actually equal to Kariya in power, if not more powerful, as the elder bount declared that there was no more left to be taught to Zan by him, and that in order to increase his power further, he would have to simply continue to exist. Before leaving to go to the Soul Society, Jin Kariya left behind certain things to increase Zanmato’s power even further, as well as give him something with which to claim power over other Bounts that would eventually emerge. Having studied the seal that bound his doll to him, Kariya created an equivalent seal and applied it to Zanmato and Soltz, forming them into one being with a much greater degree of power than either one separate would have been capable of. Zanmato also learned the secret words and power necessary to use the special manipulation that opens a Senkaimon, as well as how to summon Bitto (not that he needed to Summon the Bitto).
During the Main Story Line, Jin Kariya had actually sent Zanmato Jishaku away to a sort of ‘Vacation Home’ in another section of Karakura and told him that as his final command from teacher to student that he was NOT allowed to join the battles against the Shinigami, as he was destined for much more than simple squabbles with soul reapers. Respecting his sensei’s last command, Zanmato trained and rested at the vacation house, however he kept an eye on his master through the powers of Stolz, literally keeping an eye on Jin wherever he went.
When the Bounts departed from the Soul Society, Zanmato knew that there would be no returning. After a few days of no returning Bounts, he knew that he had been right, and began to act accordingly. He recalled his (by this point late) Master telling him that after a few days had passed, if Jin did not return, that as his heir Zanmato was entitled to everything that Jin Kariya had once possessed, including his wealth and possessions. The Will of Kariya was discovered in the vacation house and after handling the paperwork involved (actually, it had been rather amusing that Kariya even had a Will that specifically name Zan as his heir, as no one really knew of the Bounts’ existence.) Zan decided that his next move should be to find some new Bounts, and together decide what to do as a race.
Doll InformationName: Stolz
Manifestation: The doll was primarily a necklace that Zan was never seen without, but it is now a part of him, revealing itself as a tattoo on his chest where the Chain of Fate would be located.
Element: Shadow/Dark
Description: Stolz is the doll that represents the darkness itself, and as such is darkness incarnate. It cannot be said to have a specific form because virtually every shadow potentially be a part of its form. If one had to give it a form, it would be Zan’s shadow, and the dark mist that seems to appear whenever Zan fully releases his dolls full potential. Its primary abilities lie within the shadow, which is like any other shadow although much larger (it can expand to cover a large area, and appears to defy the natural laws of light and gravity, even rising off of the ground to attack and defend) and more formidable with multiple slitted eyes and sharp toothed mouths (which can be used as weapons, but aren’t used that much). The shadow can take on a variety of shapes, from sharp, thin spikes to wide barrier-like shapes and tendril-like hands used to grab objects. If Zan’s shadow touches another shadow, that shadow becomes a part of the overall Stolz, and is available for use.
Zanmato can manipulate, slice through or devour virtually anything that comes in contact with his shadow and it appears invulnerable to conventional physical harm (about as indestructible as a Zanpakuto in Bankai form), although it can be deflected by sufficiently powerful objects (Zanpakuto among others). This is the primary mode of attack (using the shadows to send a sharp spike to block a sword or a Cero, then send another to try to impale the opposition), as Zanmato wields no weapons, save for perhaps a few daggers and small arms present on his person. He can also see and talk through his shadowy eyes and mouths wherever his shadow can extend, an ability he uses to watch over his Bount charges and to gather information.
Restriction: The shadows of living beings can not be used, only Zan's own shadow and the shadows of inanimate objects.
Techniques Name: Aufnahme (Absorption)
Description: For every successful strike, a bit of Reiatsu is absorbed depending upon the severity of the strike, being drawn into the shadow, and through it into Zan, restoring a little bit of his own. A full kill draws the soul and the raw power of the defeated one into the Shadow (more specifically the Doll), allowing for the use of that creatures' energy to be used to power the Impuls technique. Because of how the system works, this technique can not be cancelled out, but against enemies with less reiatsu, the effects are diminished. Everything is relative; if an enemy with a Vast amount of Reiatsu were to be absorbed from at a major level, more reiatsu would be gained than from an enemy with only a High level, making things even. All of the power absorbed is drawn into the shadow; for example, if an Arrancar is absorbed, its raw power is (all of it) drawn into the shadow to be used in the Impuls tech, thus it becomes a matter of risk and gain. Many weak Hollows, or few powerful ones but at the cost of more chances of dying or serious injury?
*For minor scratches, only a tiny amount of reiatsu is absorbed, it being barely noticeable and hardly missed
*For a normal cut, a small amount of reiatsu is absorbed, noticeable yes, but barely even significant
*For a major cut, a moderate amount of reiatsu is absorbed, being noticeable and quite significant
*For near fatal wounds (deep cuts and stabs) a major amount is absorbed, making the wound more painful and the opponent slightly weak from the sudden loss of Reiatsu
*Fatal wounds draw out the most reiatsu, but at this point what does it matter? An extreme amount is absorbed and the opponent feels weak from the loss of reiatsu.
Preparation time: N/A
Duration: Until Hit
Cooldown: Five Posts
Name: Einberufung (Summoning)
Description: Allows for the summoning of a Shadow that draws upon the powers of defeated enemies. As the summons are defeated (or dismissed), their energies (and forms) return to Stolz for later use. Zan can only summon one group of one type of group. The beings are self sufficient yet must obey the will of Zanmato. They exist until they have either been defeated or Zanmato dismisses them and returns them to the shadow to summon a new one.
{As a note; these shadows don't have blood, so they can't be killed by bleeding or poisoning them. However, they can be killed in most fatal ways i.e. a stab in the heart area, multiple wounds will dispel them depending on the areas stricken (head and torso), and lopping off their heads might do the trick, but just stabbing them and expecting instant death? Not likely, unless you stabbed their heart.}
The Choices of Summoning are as follows: (Number Summoned) (Cooldown)
*Summon Level One: Summon is about as strong as a Gillian Class Menos. (7 Summons with a 10 post duration, 3 turn cooldown and 2 turn preparation) {Ability to fire a Cero-like beam of destructive energy in addition to the sword and shield}
- Spoiler:
*Summon Level Two: Summon is about as strong as an Adjuchas Class Menos. (5 Summons with a 9 post duration, 4 turn cooldown and 3 turn preparation) {Ability to fire a significantly stronger Cero-like beam of destructive energy (think Cero Sincretico)}
- Spoiler:
*Summon Level Three Summon is about as powerful as an Adjuchas Arrancar (The Espada kind, not the Fraccion kind). (3 Summon with an 8 post dration, 4 turn cooldown and a 4 turn preparation)
{Ability to fire a dramatically more powerful Cero-like blast of energy that’s reminiscent of a Gran Rey Cero.}
- Spoiler:
Name: Bount Obst (Bount Fruit)
Description: Summons a fruit that looks similar to an apple, only it's dark silver in color with black markings forming patterns that run over its surface. Consuming this apple allows Zan to recover from wounds (for 'wounds' on internal organs and regenerating lost limbs, more than one Obst will be needed, assuming Zan lives that long) and' cleans' his insides, curing him of poisons and ejecting anything 'foreign' from his body. Zan can cut this apple and give pieces to others without disrupting the effects if he so desires, however when he eats one piece he can not consume another piece without creating another apple.
{If the wounds are too severe the apple will at like a pain killer and also as a clotting substance, stopping the area from bleeding long enough for Zan to recover through more eating and reishi absorption.}
[If an ally were to eat this apple, they would feel the same effects, making it a very nice ability for teamwork]
*To explain what this fruit is and what gives it its abilities; Zanmato has a disadvantage when compared to most Bounts in the form of not having the benefit of healing constantly in the presence of Reishi, does he does still absorb it. As perplexing as this sounds, the reason for it is that Reishi's Bount Healing properties are absorbed through his shadow, and then concentrated. Zan can then remove this concentrated Reishi from his shadow (which is why it appears dark grey with black markings) and devour it, gaining life in the form of rejuvenation.
Preparation time: One Post
Duration: Until Eaten (However only one apple can be held at one time, so until the entire apple is eaten or destroyed, another one can NOT be made)
Cooldown: Three Posts
Name: Impuls (Impulse)
Description: Drawing upon the power of enemies (mainly hollows) defeated over many lifetimes, Zanmato increases all of his stats by sixty-five percent, and increases the power of his Barriere exponentially, also removing one turn from its cooldown while this mode is active and increases the power of his summons significantly. However, this power has a drawback; Impuls can only be used after Zanmato has recently devoured either several minor souls, or a few major ones. (As in by killing creatures and devouring their souls IC)
Preparation time: N/A
Duration: Eight Posts
Cooldown: Five Posts
Name: Barriere (Barrier)
Description: Stolz opens one of its mouths and absorbs an incoming energy (Cero/Kido) attack. It can then open one of its mouths at a later point in the battle or store it for a later battle to unleash (or perhaps release is the better term) the attack that was absorbed (for example, a Bala). When it does release the attack however, it will be charged with some energy from Zan's own reiatsu, being significantly more powerful than when it was absorbed. Can absorb attacks up to Gran Rey Cero and resend them, but attacks stronger than that cannot be absorbed.
Preparation time: N/A
Duration: Instant
Cooldown: Three Posts
Other Abilities:
Vast Spiritual Pressure: When comparing Zan’s spiritual pressure to the spiritual pressures of normal Bounts, his is highly advanced, which is to be expected if he is to be their Leader. He mainly uses it as a scare tactic or indeed when he becomes fully ready to do battle against an opponent.
Damage Resistance: He can also use it as a sort of armor, making it difficult for him to be harmed by unreleased Zanpakuto, and certain released (Shikai) Zanpakuto.
Shockwave: He has also demonstrated enough control to focus and unleash his spiritual pressure in the form of a powerful shockwave. When using both hands, his shockwave can cause a huge radius of destruction.
Master of Hand to Hand Combat: Being Kariya’s apprentice, Zanmato learned quickly the value of the martial arts, becoming quite proficient in their use in a relatively short amount of time. Combining this with his vast spiritual pressure makes for a deadly combination,
High Intelligence: What fun would observing be if one was not intelligent enough to understand what he was watching? Zanmato's intelligence is far above average, as is demonstrated by his proficiency with tactics involving his Doll and his tactical prowess during battle.
Observant: Zanmato is very cautious of his surroundings and pay close attention to detail and rarely lets any detail go unnoticed, this being said Zan's attention to his surroundings is so keen he can often predict his opponents move however, this is usually only split seconds before the attack happens, giving Zanmato a small window to defend himself.
Quick thinker: This sort of goes hand in hand with Zan’s perception, his mind processes the information as soon as it gets it and he immediately begins to think of the numerous outcomes allowing him to make sound judgments quickly.
Sightless Fighting: Because his doll uses darkness and he himself likes the dark, Zanmato has learned to fight enemies based on his other senses, including the ability to sense spiritual pressure
Reiatsu Stealth: Like the rest of his team, Jishaku is able to conceal his very spiritual presence, making stealth all the easier.
Spirit Particles Absorption: While not capable of manipulating spiritual energy like the Shinigami or Quincy can, Jishaku is able to absorb energy in the atmosphere to heal himself faster depending on how strong the concentration is and gradually increase his physical and doll might.
Zeige Dich, Noin Raven meaning Persue the Plan, Noin Raven, (Summons Bitto)
Zeige Dich!, German for Show yourself, is used by all the Bounts. It is simillar to a Shikai command; the difference is that all Bounts have the same call out. A Shikai has only one dominant command, while a doll has many commands.
Space Manipulation: The Bounts are able to manipulate space after they have sucked a number of souls. Jin Kariya was said to have long had this ability, while Gō Koga had recently gained the ability. The following Spacial Commands are:
Andere Welt anschliessende Port, tauch' dich sofort auf!, incorrect German meaning The portal which connects to another world, appear now!. This opens a senkaimon.
Mache sogleich das Tor fuer unsere Bounto auf!, German phrase meaning Open at once the gate for our Bounts. This allows the Bount's souls to pass through the senkaimon. In order for the portal to open faster, it needs a quincy arrow to be shot through the portal.
RP SAMPLE: Zanmato Jishaku awakened reluctantly as the rays of the morning sun lit his room; at first he had thought to defend himself from his morning enemy by covering his head with his pillow, but that plan was soon thereafter rendered useless as the automated alarm clock on the right side of his bed began to ring. The noise was so loud and so sudden that when he heard it, Zanmato jumped about an inch off of the bed itself. He opened his eyes slowly to reveal red pupils which looked at the alarm clock malevolently, then pressed the snooze button with quite a yawn accompanying the action.
Soon after the alarm clock had gone off, Zan heard the familiar sounds that accompanied early mornings in his house; birds chirping outside, trees rustling, and the heavy panting that served as his only warning before he got tackled by his canine best friend.
"Hey Haimaru! Did you come to make sure that I got out of bed?"
The dog looked at Zan with keen and intelligent eyes, and if the boy had been given the power to read the minds of animals, he was sure that he would have heard a 'maybe' just then; such was the look that Haimaru was giving him. After about a minute of playing with the dog in his bed, and with his face covered by saliva, Zanmato finally rolled out of bed and into his own bathroom to ensure that he was presentable. After all, what was the use of going outside with the appearance of a slob? After brushing his teeth, washing his face, and applying much needed deodorant to his armpits, Zan walked back into his room and selected his attire for that day; a dark trench coat over a white shirt, black slacks attached firmly to the waist by an equally black belt, and dark shoes recently polished and shined so that they were virtually reflective as Zanmato looked at them with pride in his eyes.
Walking downstairs and into the kitchen, Zan and Heimaru acquired their usual breakfast; cereal with milk for Zan and a generous amount of dog food for Heimaru. After finishing, Zan picked up his car keys and started to gather his belongings that he needed to take with him for 'work'. Soonafter, Zanmato was going to his car, though not before he gave Heimaru another friendly pat on the head. Taking a deep breath, Zan started up the car, pulled out of the driveway, and after checking around to make sure that he was not going to be killed in the street in front of his house by a random driver so early in the morning, drove in the direction which would bring him to 'work' in approximately fifteen minutes.
By the time that he would arrive at the Training Grounds for the Bounts, Zanmato would be wondering about his mornings; they were always so mundane when they started, and yet he was always satisfied with them, especially since the mundane elements never lasted long when you were the Bount Leader. He would ponder this strange fact for quite a few minutes, until something happened and snapped him out of his thoughts. Hopefully this time it would be a Hollow, Zan was feeling bored today.
