A Shinigami's Regret

Kyoshiro stumbled out of the portal that led to the human world. His eyes bulging out of his head. Tears streamed down his face. He was now a wanted shinigami. Kyoshiro had gotten angry, he lost his temper and attacked a fellow shinigami. Another shinigami got in the way and Kyoshiro... Kyoshiro killed her. Kyoshiro didn't know what happened to him back there. He just knew it was the end for him. Word would spread quickly so he left. Kyoshiro ran away in a panic. He never meant to kill anyone.

Kyoshiro gripped the desert sand and stood up, catching his breath. He looked around, thinking that if he stayed here, then he would be able to isolate himself where he would not hurt anyone again. "What was i thinking..." said Kyoshiro, his childish acting completely gone from his voice. "Why did I do that..." he said, punching a hole straight through a nearby cactus. Kyoshiro looked down at his shinigami uniform. "I don't deserve this... his said, tossing away the robe leaving him in black pants and his shoes. His Zanpakuto were still at his side. He wouldn't get rid of them. Kyoshiro used the cactus from the water to clean his face.

Word had quickly spread about the attacks, mainly around the 2nd and 6th Divisions since they took care of issues like this. Tenrai decided that he would take care of this since Kyoshiro was on the run it would be easy for him and the Stealth Force to hunt him down and take care of him. Tenrai quickly got ready, adjusting his haori and straping his zanpaktou. Tenrai and 5 operatives from the Stealth Force headed off into the human world and divided into three groups. Tenrai himself was one group and the five operatives divided into 2 groups, one of three and the other of two.

Tenrai quickly caught and locked onto a shinigami spiritual pressure and he traced it to a desert. Tenrai finally caught up with Kyoshiro and looked at the boy...he didnt seem like a murderer really, but he had to be dealt as one. He either had to be captured or killed here. "Kyoshiro Mebu...I am Tenrai Raiden captain of the 2nd Division...I've come here offering you a choice. You can not resist and be arrested and tried for your crimes...or I'll have to kill you...please make the right decision", Tenrai said, trying to be sympathetic.

Kyoshiro's eyes widened and he straightened up as he heard the voice. He turned as the shinigami spoke. "Tenrai... I didn't mean too.. I didn't..." he muttered more to himself. He sighed and straightened up with pride. "I didn't mean for it to happen. However, I will face up to my crimes. Not as a prisoner, though. I will go down fighting. I will take the death of a warrior," said Kyoshiro as he drew both of his zanpakuto, knowing he wouldn't be able to use just one against the captain. Kyoshiro knew his time would come, but he would pay his respects back to the shinigami by giving it his all in battle. Like a true member of the 11th Division.

Tenrai listened to the sound of the boys voice....He did seem sorry however sorry wasnt going to cut it. After hearing Kyoshiro's answer Tenrai nodded...he understand why he chose to fight and he respected his decision, but now Tenrai knew he couldnt hold back..however he would respect the shinigami he was going to have to subdue today...and he figured he should enjoy the fight as well. "Very well then...", Tenrai said as he disappeared with a shunpo. Tenrai appeared under the boy in an instant and quickly struck, attempting to elbow Kyoshiro in the stomach. If the attack was successful, Tenrai would have done a pretty serious blow to Kyoshiro's midsection and launch him straight forward, just with the sheer impact.

Kyoshiro took a deep breath right before the captain disappeared with Shunpo. Kyoshiro went into action the moment the Captain reappeared. By putting his acrobatics into work, Kyoshiro quickly thrusted down in front of him with his right fist, his zan in hand as well. He would jump at the same time, going for a flip over Tenrai by using Tenrai's arm as a support beam. If he pulled this off, Kyoshiro would spin sideways in mid air, taking the Zanpakuto in his left hand and would bring it around for a downward slash at the Captain's back. Then he would kick off the Captain's back and use reishi to hold himself up in the air.

Kyoshiro's specialty was acrobatics. With his small size, he could pull these off much more easily than a grown man, and he wouldn't take long for his movements as well. Kyoshiro's other specialty was that of close combat, which is why he was in the 11th Division. Kyoshiro would show this Captain what he had learned and trained for. What he had learned and trained for to fight for the Shinigami.

Tenrai noticed that the boy dodged his technique with relative ease and as Kyoshiro jumped behind him Tenrai span, unsheathing his zanpaktou and slashing upwards. His zanpaktou met Kyoshiro's and Tenrai slid his sword down parrying Kyoshiro's attack and knocking it away from him. Tenrai then jumped back before Kyoshiro could kick him, putting some distance between the two. *Seem's like he's light on his feet...That might be a problem*, Tenrai thought to himself.

Kyoshiro was a member of the 11th Division...meaning that he was training to fight in straight up hand to hand combat..Tenrai knew this and he relized that might pose a problem. ..Tenrai relized he would have to limit the boys movement somehow. He came up with several ways to do this but decided to wait a bit before he went in for the kill. Tenrai merely pointed a finger at Kyoshiro and a blast of yellow lightning was fired. This wasnt kidou however...this was Tenrai's manifestation of his reaitsu, this was real lightning. It was fast and if it made contact would definately do some serious damage.

*Fighting hand to hand might not be the smartest thing to do in this fight...perhaps I should just fight and take him down from a distance*, he thought to himself.

Kyoshiro used his strength to hold his body in the air as Tenrai parried Kyoshiro's strike. Tenrai receded and Kyoshiro dropped to the ground. He landed in a crouch with one leg bent for a squat, the other outstretched behind him on the sand. Kyoshiro turned to see the captain and smiled. Kyoshiro was glad he was able to fight to the death against the captain of division 2.

His eyes focused on the path of the Captain's hands as he pointed toward him, releasing the burst of spiritual energy. Kyoshiro quickly stabbed down his left Zanpakuto into the ground in the path of the attack and removed his hand, letting the blade take the attack with it held in place deep within the sand. Kyoshiro may have been a member of the eleventh division, but it doesn't mean he only trained for fighting close combat. He trained for fighting defensive and long range, which is also what his zanpakuto tech were based off of. This gave him an advantage of variety in battle, since most people mainly stuck to a certain style. His Zanpakuto allowed him to become a diverse fighter, focusing a lot in strength and defense while also allowing him the pleasure to combat those of long range style fighting.

It seemed that Kyoshiro acted quickly in order to block Tenrai's first attack, however Tenrai wasnt going to let him get it off that easy. Lightning was also charging in Tenrai's other finger and once the first blast was fired, Tenrai quickly performed a shunpo appearing behind Kyoshiro at a much closer range and fired off a second attack. It would be difficult to dodge this considering at this point Kyoshiro had already stabbed his blade into the ground so he couldnt use that to block this attack and since Tenrai cut the distance the attacks would hit around the same time. The lightning would move fast and Kyoshiro would have little reaction time.

There would be an explosion regardless if the attacks hit their target or not because they should have crashed into each other. Due to the fighting beind in a desert much sand would have picked up causing a considerable drop in visability, which Tenrai noticed. He remained aware of his surroundings and in a defensive position. If everything went well then Kyoshiro would have been severely damaged or even killed from the impact of the two lightning strikes, and if not then Tenrai knew this boy was strong and hed probably have to resort to going into Shikai because hand to hand combat didnt seem like an option at the moment.

Kyoshiro's eyes had been focused on the captain when he made his move to block the initial attack. When the captain disappeared with shunpo, Kyoshiro quickly turned, looking for him. Kyoshiro's eyes widened as the captain was behind him, using the same attack. Kyoshiro barely had enough time to throw up his second zanpakuto to block. The blast contacted and the explosion erupted. As Kyoshiro flew back from the blast, he made sure to quickly grab his second Zanpakuto. Kyoshiro landed with a thud and in a flurry of sand twenty feet from his previous position.

Kyoshiro shook as he stood, blood dripping from his left hand. "Damn.. That hurt.." he said as he finally got to his feet. "Captain Tenrai... You got me with that one.. I won't be making the same mistake. However, I won't be able to take you on in this current state... I will show you all that I have..." said Kyoshiro as he stabbed both of his Zanpakuto into the ground in front of him. He put his palms on the but of their hilts. Sand cascaded down like rain.

"Shred... Ten Tsubasa," said Kyoshiro, activating his shikai. The blades shattered into 1000 pieces per blade. Making a total of 2000 tiny razor-like blades burst into the air. Kyoshiro's reiatsu became visible and hundreds of tiny spiritual wires sprouted from the hundreds of tiny blades. Most went to his back, attaching then retracting the blades into spikes against his bare back. The others attached and retracted against his arms. A few coated over his nails and grew in length, producing a dagger-like object on each nail of each hand. Kyoshiro's eyes were focused as he stood there, his shikai making him a weapon. His back held 1000 spikes, his arms held 500 each. He was a living weapon now. His arms completely coated, making him even more deadly with close combat.

It seemed the boy had lived with just a few injuries...he was strong indeed, and Tenrai knew that just basic attacks wouldnt do it anymore. When Kyoshiro said he couldnt fight him in this state Tenrai nodded in agreement...not to insult him, but he ment the same thing. In order for Tenrai to win this fight he would in the very least have to go into Shikai. He pointed his zanpaktou towards Kyoshiro.

"Decieve thy enemy...and eradicate all that stands in your path, Enrai Arashi!", the captain said. Upon uttering those words the area became dense from Tenrais massive reaitsu...electric sparks began flaring around him from the release of his shikai. A gray cloud covered the blade of Tenrais zanpaktou. It cracklked immensely and sparks could be seen on the cloud which now completely surrounded the blade.

Once Tenrai was ready he looked at Kyoshiro's shikai. He noticed the many small blades and he tried to imagine what Kyoshiro would be able to do with them. They seemingly made hand to hand combat impossible against him...but Tenrai also wondered if he could launch the baldes? Could be manipluate them remotely?? There were too many possibilities so the captain was on guard. Tenrai assumed a defensive position to see what Kyoshiro's first move would be...

Kyoshiro held out his arms and began running forward. "Ten Ribaundo!" he said, using one of his two tech. As he charged toward the captain, the blades on his arms began to join together, then they began to flatten against his skin. This started first at his hand, encasing it in a smooth, mirror surface of metal. It worked its way up his arm all the way to his shoulder. Kyoshiro's Ten Ribaundo was a defensive move that could also be used as a close combat move. Kyoshiro knew what would happen if he took an attack from a Captain, he wouldn't take full damage, but he would take a good amount of it.

Tenrai narrowed his eyes as the boy charged at him. "He's the 3rd Seat of the 11th Division...He has that rank for a reason...Close combat is what he lives for...and that armor was blade of his zanpaktou..and I have to assume he could extend those blades out again, I can't let him get too close*, Tenrai thought as he leaped backwards, trying to keep the gap between the two fighters. However he did have a plan, he just needed to wait until the right time to do so. So he kept leaping backwards, putting distance between the two. His zanpaktou was still releasing sparks...The cloud was definately holding lighning within it but Tenrai knew how he wanted to use it against Kyoshiro...it was just a matter of time.

Kyoshiro stopped running when he noticed he wouldn't be able to catch up to the captain at this speed. "Here I come," said Kyoshiro as he used shunpo, appearing to the captain's left. He kept using shunpo, going in a circle around the captain. He did this strategy in order to keep the captain focused on his movements in the direction he was going, while also using it to close in the distance, giving the captain only one way to go.

Although Tenrai knew that he was clearly able to out shunpo to boy he decided not to...he decided to play along and to slowly let Kyoshiro get closer and closer with each passing moment just to see what the boy would do. However that didnt mean that Tenrai let his guard down. He was sure to keep his eyes on the boy and keep his guard up so when Kyoshiro got close enough to strike, he would be ready to at very least counter attack. However it seemed curiousity about the boy's zanpaktou had caused him to what to see what he would do...that way he could learn the concept behind the boys techniques making it easier for him to react to certain scenarios that might arise later.

Kyoshiro knew his Tech was about to go out. He stopped momentarily in front of Tenrai, standing ten fifteen feet away. He then used shunpo once more. However, instead of going to the side again as he had been doing, instead of attacking from the side or back, Kyoshiro used Shunpo and appeared in front of the captain. He used the speed of the shunpo to throw himself forward. Bending sideways as he threw up his left hand, going to punch the captain's face. This was a martial arts style Kyoshiro had picked up. The metal punch to the face was a distraction, meant to be blocked, while the hidden second punch came in low, for a blow to the solar plexus. With how the body works, the eyes lock onto movement. With the fist being the closest, the eyes would be adjusted to it and more likely to see it, while being less likely to notice the second punch coming in from below.

Tenrai wondered why the boy had stopped...However it didnt really matter at this point, the distance between them was decent, it was time for Tenrai to go on the offensive. Before Kyoshiro launched forward, just an instant before, the cloud on Tenrai's blade expanded 50 meters covering the both of them inside the cloud. Sparks would be seen inside the cloud. This was the time when Kyoshiro shunpo'd forward to attack. Tenrai merely did a single shunpo seeming to be gone from the boy's sight and dodging his attacks, however a voice echoed from behind him, "Bakudou Number Nine : Geki", the voice said and suddenly Kyoshiro would be enveloped by a red light. If this was successful, which it had a good chance of being, Kyoshrio would be frozen..for at he very least just a few moments which was all Tenrai needed. Tenrai then jumped out of the cloud and suddenly the cloud would emit a powerful blast of lightning severely shocking and burning everything inside of it.

Tenrai stood on the outside of the cloud where the damage was only shock related causing it not to effect him due to his immunity from lightning shocks. After the attack the cloud would fade, hopefully showing results that ment that the fight was over.

Kyoshiro's eyes widened in the darkness of the cloud. Just before Geki was used, Kyoshiro punched down, digging his metal arms into the sand, deep into the sand. As he did, the spikes sprouted, his Ten Piasu was over. Though he became frozen, his fingers began to glow. "Ten Piasu!" said Kyoshiro, just as he was frozen. His fingers glowed underneath the sand. Kyoshiro closed his eyes just as the electrical shock hit. The electricity hit his back, mostly, as he intended. It also hit his arms. He screamed in pain as the electricity went through his body. However, since he was grounded the electricity was dispersed into the earth, taking away most of the damage. Kyoshiro's skin was dark and he was coughing up blood. However, he was barely still alive.

(Ten Piasu Preparation Post 1/2)

Tenrai narrowed his eyes looking at the boy...the technique seemed to do its toll..although Kyoshrio was able to reduce the damage of the attack around his back and arms, due to the nature of the technique that wouldnt be enough..the shock came from all angles and so did the pain. However Tenrai was impressed that the boy still managed to keep himself alive somehow, however he knew that it was barely and hopefully this fight would end soon. Tenrai took to the sky making sure he had the high ground so he could watch Kyoshiro closely as well as be aware for any surprise attacks. He then pointed his sword towards Kyoshrio and then raised it towards the sky. He then slashed down releasing another powerful blast of lightning from the sword. If this one connected he would have similar effects as the previous attack, except the pain would be a lot more intense in terms of the burning as well as being blown back by the force of the impact. Because of the angle the attack would have pushed the boy into the ground, injurying him greatly and crushing him slightly if connected.

Spoiler:

Kyoshiro was hit dead on in his back. He slammed down into the ground. The sheer force of the attack caused the sand to split into multiple piles around him, or more like he sunk down making a crater in the pile of sand. Blood spilled out from Kyoshiro's back, a large wound could be seen and the blades were shifting slightly on his back to get back into place. They had been scattered and many were trying to reconnect.

Kyoshiro turned slightly, both arms buried in the sand. His eyes were dimming and he was looking at Tenrai. Kyoshiro coughed up some blood, yet he smiled. "Th-thank you..." he said through a mouthful of blood. "I will.. do better in the next life...." he said, after coughing out most of the blood. "But..." Kyoshiro would still go down fighting if he was able to. He may not be able to move his body, and he may have been losing blood as the moment passed, yet he could still do one last thing before his death. He was going to fight to the very last breath.

Underneath the sand, the nails began to detach, a thin cord of spiritual energy attached to each dagger nail. They were small and sharp enough to easily move under the sand. Kyoshiro only hand to direct them with his spiritual energy. No movement was needed.

(Ten Piasu Preparation 2/2)

Tenrai looked down as the boy took a direct hit from his attack...and was still alive. He definately showed that he desevred his rank being able to take so much physical damage and still not succumb to the wounds, however due to his condition just one more attack should be enough to end the fight. Tenrai decided he should try and make this a piercing attack to ensure if it hit it would kill Kyoshiro. He remained high in the sky incase Kyoshiro had some time of last ditch attack, after all it wasnt bad to be careful. Tenrai then pointed his figner aiming for Kyoshiro's midsection, his heart to be precise.

"Hadou Number Four : Byakurai...", Tenrai muttered, using one of his favorite kidou. He condensed the attack making it fast and extremely piercing. If successful it would have easier went through Kyoshiro's heart killing the boy and doing some damage around the wound as well. Tenrai watched to make sure the deed was done however before he moved on.

Just as Tenrai fired off the shot, the ground around Kyoshiro, in a circle, seemed to explode. Tiny dagger-like blades burst from under the sound, trailing behind them was a reiatsu cord. Kyoshiro smiled as he watched the oncoming attack. "Good... bye..." he muttered as he urged the blades on, going straight for Tenrai.

When Kyoshiro was hit, the blade's movements stopped. They were each surrounding Tenrai. One from above, one from below. Two from the left, two from the right, two from behind, and two from ahead. The blades stopped just a few feet away. All of a sudden, the blades, and each spike on Kyoshiro's body, began to break down, turning to dust as his zanpakuto took its normal form. However, the zanpakuto seemed broken, split into multiple pieces, and lay all around Kyoshiro's dead body. His lifeless eyes looking up at Tenrai with a small smile.
