~Ranking Up Rules/Guidelines~

(First of all let it be known that anyone wishing to undertake any of the ways here to gain a rank must talk to admin about the decision and gain approval before starting to do so. Staff have the final say over whether you can attempt to tale a rank from someone, this is to ensure that people doing a great job in their duty as captain aren’t harassed by challenges all the time and to keep things fair. If you have just gained a rank then we ensure you wait until you try again)

Inactivity:For nearly races the most common and easiest way to gain a rank is when someone above you is deemed inactive, this causes their rank to be stripped and you promoted. Those below you would also be promoted up one rank to fill the spaces left behind by your promotion and so forth. I feel that doing it this way rather than leaving the spot open for someone completely new to come and take the rank makes it fairer, after all you have doing your duty well and it’s only fair that you be promoted, right? Of course if you have not been doing your duty (not posting etc) then you may be overlooked for that promotion so be sure you are doing your duty well. In the case of going from lieutenant to captain (shinigami) you would be made to complete an application for a simple bankai ability and the training for it within a given time. If you don’t get that done you might miss out on the opportunity and have it given to someone else.

Shinigami:

Alright so you are a shinigami and you want to rank up in your division, other than waiting for the one above you to become inactive you can do the following.

Ranking from Lieutenant to Captain: (at least 2 of the following must be completed to gain captainship) YOU MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 140 POSTS BEFORE YOU CAN ATTEMPT TO TAKE THE RANK OF CAPTAIN

Stage 1 (Personal Recommendation): (This is the 1st of the 2 things you must do to gain captainship)
Alright so you have been serving your division well but your captain is not pulling their weight around the place but is doing enough to remain classed as ‘active’? No problem. If that is the case then you should talk to the captains of the other divisions, if they are truly being as useless as you say then you should have no trouble convincing at least six captains to personally recommend you for the spot. But keep in mind at least three of the remaining seven captain’s must approve of the idea, they don’t have to recommend you but they must agree with the decision.

(There is to be no bribing, black-mailing, hassling, bullying, or nagging done to get these recommendations or agreements if I find out that has happened I will take action. If someone doesn’t think you would do any better than the current captain then that’s that it is not to be taken personally. And no grudges should be formed because of it, If I find out that any kind of negative treatment of those that disagreed is happening I will once again take action. Also friends should not recommend you just because you are their friend, this should be taken from IC knowledge)

The captain’s that personally recommend you must all send their recommendations to Lightning with reasons as for why they are recommending you for the position, the same will be expected of the people agreeing with the decision.

Stage 2 (Captain’s proficiency test): (this is the 2nd of the 2 things you can do to obtain captainship)
After you have completed the personal recommendation stage you will be allowed to apply for a temporary bankai (this is a bankai that can be used for this stage. However should you fail the fight you will be unable to use it). You will not be made to train for a temporary bankai, you will however have to get it approved by 3 staff members before the test can begin.

You then must show your Bankai to three captains, including the captain commander. If they are convinced, one will be promoted to captain. You will then need to complete training for your bankai promptly, and it will become official after that is complete. If not the bankai will be taken from your character and you must complete training in your bankai before you will be allowed to attempt the test again. (keep in mind this extra training does not mean you don’t have to train after passing the test)

Optional Stage for 11th division only (Trial by Combat):
This is another option for those of the 11th division that do not wish to complete the proficiency test. You must defeat the current captain with at least 200 witnesses from the squad. (these witnesses are NPC, your topic will however be read by a staff member thoroughly before a judgement is made this is to ensure not cheating etc) Possessing Bankai or even Shikai is not necessary, as long as the captain is defeated.

3rd Seat to Lieutenant:Other than waiting for inactivity to allow you to rank up 3rd seats must do the following to rank up. YOU MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 70 POSTS IN ORDER TO ATTEMPT TOO TAKE THE RANK OF LIEUTENANT

Stage 2 (Trial by Combat):
After getting the personal recommendations and agreements you will need to defeat the current lieutenant in battle. If you are successful you will take the rank of lieutenant and they will take 3rd seat.

Moving Up Seated Positions:So you want to take the rank above you, sick of being 5th seat and want to be 4th? Well all you have to do is gain the approval of your captain (of course of a staff member before them) and you must defeat the officer above you in battle. If you are successful then you will take their rank and they will be demoted to what was your seat.

~Espada~

For those that are Arrancar or Espada and wish to gain a rank the following can be done. (Arrancar must have a minimum of 200 posts before you can try to enter the Espada ranks)

Stage 1: Reiatsu Judgement
One can show his/hers reiatsu to the Espada Leader. The Leader will decide the rank, if worthy enough to be within the Espada. The person that formerly possessed the rank is then ranked down and so on.

Stage 2: Trial By Combat
Killing the lowest ranking Espada with two Espada as witnesses will gain you the deceased's rank. One can work the way up the ranks like this, but killing should only be necessary for entering the ranks of the Espada.

Stage 3: Recommendation
One is recommended into the Espada by one of the existing members. The Espada Leader and two of the top five will approve this request

~Bount~

As the Bount's rank centers around personality and innate powers, they can't rank up. If one possessing the rank dies, he / she will be replaced with a new character.

~Quincy~

A quincy may gain a rank through the following ways:

* If Inactivity causes the rank above you to become vacant you may ask the Quincy president Moka or Secretary Nathalie for the rank. If they declare that you may indeed have the rank you will promoted to that position.

* If you would like to challenge the rank above you to a trial through combat you must ask permission from the president (Moka) first. If you are given permission you and the rank above you will participate in a battle, if you win you will be promoted but if you lose you will remain at your current rank.
