Squad 13 mission: Patrolling after the phenomenon (Kenji mamoru and Yachiru only)

Upon receiving notice of her call to duty, Yachiru sped towards the thirteenth division barracks. It was her first mission in ages and she was anxious to get started. Apparently it was just herself and Kenji going on this mission. She didn't know the basics of the mission quite yet, but figured it had to do with a patrol of some sort, that being the basis of Squad 13. She felt bad having to leave Envy behind, but she'd make it up to him later. She knew he'd understand that duty came first. Right now, she had to focus on her duties as Vice Captain. She continued onward when something caught her attention.

After wandering for an hour, just trying to get back to the barracks, she began to feel something that made her shiver. She sensed several odd spiritual pressures, none of them belonging to any shinigami. They felt more like Hollow signatures, and there were a lot. A dozen at least. She bit her lip and hurried to the barracks, finally finding the headquarters after searching blindly. She really needed a map. She didn't see Kenji out front, and that worried her. She walked around the courtyard, searching for the estranged captain so she could report the odd pressures she sensed.

[Since Kenji hasn't posted yet, I figured I'd start this mission off. Hope that isn't a problem. ^^;]

Dark brown eyes watched Yachiru trying to find her way back to the 13th division and the figure behind these eyes chuckled ever so softly. Despite being in the 13th division she still couldn’t find her way back home, how sad. Maybe the captain should give her a GPS system, maybe then she could find her way back, though that was doubtful. Oh, how about a shock collar, giving her a painful shock every time she got lost. Sooner or later she get tired of being shock and she would know how to get back to her divisions. But that was up to the captain to decided....

The eyes belonged to Kenji Mamoru the captain of the 13th division. Today was a very bad day for anyone who had to cross the captain of the 13th division. If those who don’t believe the myth of the unlucky number thirteen then they should, at least today. None of his division had seen Kenji since yesterday afternoon, not even his lover, Mina had seen him. No one knew where he went for he didn’t tell anyone, he just left. When he left so did his spiritual pressure.

Kenji wouldn’t tell anyone where he had been for that was personal and none of their business. But upon his return he noticed the odd spiritual pressure within the vicinity and knew exactly who they belong to. Nothing but hollows had this unique spiritual pressure and must been the cause. A smirk almost came across his face as he thought, the dumb-f*cks actually grew some balls and decided to attack. The noticing of the spiritual pressure was also confirm, when he had checked in on his quarters and notice that there was a report of several hollows have been sighted within Seireitei.

After reading the report he didn’t stay long and by the time Yachiru came to his quarters he had already blink into a tree. Kenji didn’t have time to waste on entertain a child at the moment...well not today. Maybe once this day end, he would think about it. Yachiru wouldn’t noticed anyone within the tree for Kenji had masked his spiritual energy perfectly for the most part....

Blinking once more, he appeared in one of the alleys. Kenji was wearing his standard captain attire. The dark green bracelet that always stayed around his wrist was not there and had been broken some time back. For in his left hand was his zanpakuto within it’s sheath. The sheath in which was stained with blood...though who the blood belong too one didn’t know. Picking of the trail of a hollow, Kenji began to water at the mouth. For it was time to hunt....The thoughts about Yachiru needing his help was none existence....it was Blood lust time(Read profile)...time to let the blood fly!

Yachiru frowned a bit as Kenji remained hidden. The man had been missing for days, and now that there is a mission, he's still absent. Yachiru simply sighed. She hated people like this. She turned her back to the barracks, her entire demeanor changing simply from the vibes she picked up from the approaching spiritual pressures. She looked up at the sky, shuddering again. Something was coming closer. The spiritual pressure of this thing was impressive. Yachiru sighed and glanced over her shoulder, her expression harder and more grown up for a lack of better words. We have comp--- Her words were interrupted by a shrill cry of pain. Blood shot from her right shoulder, splattering onto the ground. A hollow's claws impaled Yachiru's right shoulder. She was too distracted to see it. The hollow howled and flicked Yachiru aside like a rag doll, her body slamming into a nearby structure with a loud thud before dropping to the ground. Surprisingly, she was still conscious. She sat up, clutching her right shoulder with her left hand. She had never fult such pain. She grimaced at looked up at the hollow. Her right arm was made useless, the wound now bleeding profusely. She glared at the hollow, her bright pink reiatsu materializing and radiating from her body. Her spiritual pressure increased drastically. She was pissed to say the least. She then glanced at the barracks, looking for Kenji, his irritating attitude only ticking her off more. She drew her blade with her left hand, prepared to fight, even in such bad shape already. She'd die protecting this place.

Kenji slowly made his way down one of the roads within the Seireitei. He was still tracking down the immense spiritual pressure he felt before, for he knew it was somewhere around him. Turning his head to the east in the direction of his barracks, his body would flicker out of existence and appears right in front of the badly hurt Yachiru. His back was turned away from the hollow and his gaze was fixed upon his lieutanents wounds. In her state, flash backs of his sister appeared in his mind. He wasn’t going to allow another person to die on his watch, specially her. “I got this...” Was all he said, his words were cold as ice and had a murderous tone to it.

Turning his attention to the hollow in front of him, he would smile at the emorous beast that stood before him. The mighty hollow roared, as it charged forward at Kenji bringing both of it’s claw like hands downward in an attempt to smash the puny shinigami. However, the hollow’s attack would be futile as the captain of the 13th division Shunpo away from the current area along with Yachiru in his arms. They would appear behind the hollow, as Kenji placed Yachiru against another tree “Can’t have my baby sister get hurt now, can I?” He said ruffling up her hair and smiling.

Standing up and facing the hollow that had just now realize that it had missed it’s target. “Sai!” Was all he said as the hollow’s arms stiffly lock themselves behind it’s back. The beast struggled to get free, before opening it’s mouth charging up a red cero. And firing it at Kenji. Seeing the blast heading towards him, he spoke the words “Seki!’ as a sphere of spiritual energy form and explode in front of him and Yachiru. The explosion would deflect the hollows attack. Using the smoke and flying debris has cover, Kenji appeared behind the hollow and thrusts his zanpakuto straight through the hollow’s back and then slashing it to the creature’s right shoulder blade.

The screams of the hollow were heard as it falls dead from the severe wound afflicted by the captain. Walking over to Yachiru, he would look at her and smile once more “Forgive me on how I been acting lately. Today is the same day my sister committed suicide, along with the same time my father disappeared.” Was all he said...before out stretching his hand towards his sister “Lets finish these idiots off. I need a drink...and I know you want to get back to Envy.” He said winking at her.

Yachiru frowned as Kenji finally showed up. She looked up at him and simply glared. If he showed up a few moments earlier, instead of taking his sweet time, she couldn't be bleeding profusely. She huffed and watched him take on the hollow. He dispatched the miserable creature with little effort. She ignored his words and his hand, then walked passed him. She gave him an angry glare, her dark pink eyes locking on his own gaze. We're not finished....

As she finished her statement, she vanished, using her shunpo to carry her to the location of the next hollow. This one was a tad larger than the last. It appeared to be an Adjuchas class menos. It looked like a six story tall lion. Yachiru glared coldly at the beast. She was far from her normal, bubbly self, her serious side taking over now. Her sense of duty kicked in. She gripped her blade tightly in her left hand, her right arm laying limp at her side. She shunpoed again, appearing above the beast. She glared at it, her reiatsu flaring once more. She then divebombed the hollow, embedding her blade into the mid back of the beast. It's roar rattled the Seireitei, the creature now thrashing wildly as it fought to get Yachiru off it's back. Her blade only dug deeper. She then followed through, slashing the beast in two at the torso. The two halves fell to the ground, but the battle wasn't over. The flesh started to bubble, the two halves reforming and reattaching to one another. Yachiru landed a few fet away and watched as the hollow regenerated. She grimaced. She had to go for the mask...

Kenji didn’t say anything as Yachiru gave him a rather evil glare. Okay, he deserved that for he did disappear without telling anyone. And he did acted like a jackass earlier, but all was in good fate Kenji never allowed others to get into his personal life, that dealing with his sister’s suicide and father’s disappearance. Though most of the teachers knew that he was a member of the Shiba clan and was exile for a disclosed reason, no one actually knew why he was exile. The only person who knew was Mina and one of the teachers that had helped him through the academy.

As Yachiru vanished, Kenji did the same as they both appeared in front of the Adjuchas class menos. Kenji was just about to attack the beast when Yachiru stepped up to the plate and did it herself. Leaning against a wall, he watched her attacked the beast. A smirk came across his face, she was fighting with more fire then before. Guess when one had to protect their home they wouldn’t hold anything back, sadly Kenji had to. For his zanpakuto feeds on the same thing that he suppose to protect. Shunpoing on top of a building he watched carefully as the two combatants fought

Yachiru stared the lion like beast in it's blood red eyes as it turned towards her. It lowered it's upper body and let out an earth shattering roar that shook the Seireitei yet again. Her eyes narrowed. Now was her time to show why she was placed in the 11th Division years ago. She gripped her sword in her teeth and pulled her sash off her waist. She then stabbed her sword into the ground, freeing up her good arm and her mouth. She took the sash and wrapped it around the bleeding wound in her shoulder, binding it to stop the bleeding. Then, by using sheer willpower, she forced her injured arm to draw her blade from the ground. The pain was immense, but that was the least of her worries. She had a home to protect, and her arm will heal with time. She gripped her blade with both hands, her bright pink reiatsu swirling around her form before taking of the shape of wings. Her zanpakuto spirit was aiding her. She shunpoed into the air, landing on the neck of the large beast. It bucked and shook wildly, trying to throw her once again. This time, she imbedded her blade into the forehead of the beast, creating a crack in it's mask that ran the length of it's face. Her wounded shoulder throbbed in pain, but her drive to rid the seireitei of the beast overthrew the pain. She flipped over her blade, while still gripping it, her feet planted firmly on the beast's face. She then utilized her shunpo to propel her downward, dragging her blade through the crack in the beast's mask. It's head had been sliced in half like a hunk of meat. The two halves separated and lolled towards either side of it's body. In a flash of pink light, the spit head was cleaved from the stumbling body and dropped to the ground with two thundering crashes, one shortly after the other. The body followed suit before it burst into a mass of crimson spirit particles. Yachiru shook the blood from the blade, then sheathed it. She had a hardened expression on her face that could easily remind anyone of Kenpachi. She slowly drifted back to the ground, glancing up at Kenji out of the corner of the eye as he merely spectated her battle. She made no change to her expression. There was no time for sily chit chat. More hollows were coming, some stronger than the one she just destroyed.

Kenji watched the action below him unfolded, during the whole time he acted like there was nothing wrong as if the attacks of the hollows were nothing to him. Though this is of course a misconception for the emotions that he hid within his body was great and he dearly wanted it to come out into the opening, but he couldn’t...not while there were others around. He wasn’t surprised at the willpower that his sister showed, for she was in the 11th division for a reason. Though the expression that was on her face when she looked at him caused him to shiver, unknowingly. What was this that he had felt? Was it fear? Or was it something else? These thoughts had to be pushed a sided as the screams of residents not to far from their location could be heard.

Looking down at Yachiru he motioned in his head in the direction from where the screams had come from, before he began to flash stepping in way to said location. Yachiru was a strong cookie and Kenji knew that she could handle herself for she was in the 11th division for a reason. Zanpakuto drawn the captain of the 13th division came to a halt at the horror in front of him. There standing in a thing of gore were an Adjuchas class meno that looked like wolf and not too far away from it there was another one that resembled a monkey with a scorpion like tail and was considerably smaller then it’s counter part. It was this one that charged towards the captain at an incredible speed before appearing in front of the captain sending it’s right clawed hand at the chest of Kenji. Not only that it’s scorpion like tail seemed to be able to extend as it curl itself around the right of the captain, as it’s stinger aimed for Kenji’s back.

Oh it would have been his luck to deal with such a pest like this one. Using flash step the captain appeared behind, hollow. In which the beast swung around and sent it’s tail towards the man again. Kenji manage to deflect the tail of the beast to the right, as he attempted to thrust his sword into the beast’s chest. Using it’s hands the beast parried Kenji’s attack At that moment the beast wrapped it’s tail around the left arm of Kenji as it constricted itself. While restraining the captain’s arm, the hollow began to charge up a cero in it’s mouth before firing it at Kenji “Seki” was all he said, as a shield was formed around Kenji deflecting the blast. Using his other hand Kenji brought his zanpakuto to the tail of the hollow as he sliced it off.

The severed tail flapped around on the ground for a few minutes before it stopped moving. The hollow was now moaning in pain. This was going to be a long fight, Kenji said to himself but he needed to end it quick. For the other Adjuchas class memo, had lepted towards Yachiru. It’s furr were caked in blood from the gore and it’s eyes told the story of a beast who wanted nothing more to sink it’s teeth into the shinigami’s flesh.

Yachiru's eyes caught Kenji's nod soon after a chorus of screams erupted in the distance. She sighed a bit and followed behind him, her shunpo nearly matching the speed of his. She appeared on a rooftop, staring down at the carnage trhat had unfolded. Kenji could have prevented this instead of watching me... she thought as she stared down at the mess. Two blodsoaked hollows, also Adjuchas class, were at the center of the massacre. Yachiru frowned and watched Kenji begin combat with the monkey like one. The wolf adjuchas stared on, its tongue lolling as it drooled hungrily, aching for blood. She noticed its nose twitch, it's hungry eyes now on her. The blood soaked beast charged her at full speed, blood and saliva splattering from it's muzzle as it ran. Yachiru simply grinned and readied her blade, her stance looking much like Kenpachi's. She noticed that Kenji was using a lot of Kido. That was one thing she preferred not to use due to her pride in the 11th Division. Yachiru narrowed her eyes as the beast sprang up at her. Wrong move, puppy... The moment the beast pounced, it opened it's jaws, aiming to take a bite out of her throat. She took this chance to skewer the beast by shoving her blade down it's throat. The wolf whined and writhed on her blade, but only caused more damage as it struggled. She then twisted her blade before ripping it from the beast's mouth. It vomited up blood before collapsing in a puddly of it's own bloody emesis. Yachiru huffed and stabbed her sword through the beasts skull, the impact letting out a chilling crack. She removed her blade and glanced down at Kenji while kicking the wolf's corpse off of the roof. She was growing rather tired of this, but the scent of hollow and whole blood attracted yet another hollow....no....more than just one.... A group of Menos, at least four, were approaching quickly. Yachiru shivered and looked down at Kenji as the wolf's corpse landed just behind him with a nasty wet thud. Kenji....A large horde of menos is coming...get that monkey off your back already and prepare yourself... Her tone was chillingly cold and almost demanding. She'd probably catch hell for talking to a superior like that, but she had bigger fish to fry right now. A horde like this wasn't going to be easy..

The monkey like hollow that had it’s tail chopped off by the captain of the 13th division, had stopped it moaning in pain and charged towards the captain, before reach him the money disappeared and reappeared behind Kenji. However this would be the hollow’s downfall, as Kenji brought his zanpakuto around full circle, cutting the hollow in half, before ramming his zanpakuto into it’s mask. Sheathing his zanpakuto once again, he would then feel the spiritual pressure of the horde of memos that were coming from them. “Yea I sense it but I’m not about to wait for them.” Was all he said as he flashed step in the direction of the horde that was approaching.

The only thought in the captain’s mind was to end this fight as quickly as possible, for something was telling him, his mother was in danger. While flash stepping towards the horde of memos he began to speak quietly to himself “Retake your throne.” was the words as he spoke, his zanpakuto had changed within it’s scabbard. Drawing the weapon out dust would fly into the air around him. This dust was nothing but thousands of seeds that fed on one’s spiritual energy. And it would be these seeds that lead to the menos downfall.

Some of the seeds imbedded themselves within Kenji’s body through the pores that all things have. Yachiru wouldn’t be affected by the seeds for she knew exactly what they were and how they could be used. Thanks to Kenji giving her a 101 class on his shikai ability. Thus when she saw the dust, she knew to dodge it. Though if she didn’t dodge it, the seeds inside of her could come in handy later on. But since she wanted to rip his head off at the moment, then it would be bad idea.

Stopping on top of the roof he looked at Yachiru “I need a favor. There is a kido I want to use. But it takes awhile to prepare it. I just need two minutes and that’s it. And I promise I will make it up to you.” He said. The horde of memos had spotted Kenji and they were charging up a ceros aiming for him and Yachiru. Seems like they didn’t like to wait for anything, using flash step Kenji dodged the attack and appeared on another building “Damnit, scratch that idea.”

The earth underneath the menos began to crack, as vines began to entangle themselves around the legs of the menos. The more they struggle the tighter the vines got and the deeper the thorns penetrate into their flesh.

Yachiru watched Kenji finish off the monkey like hollow. She questioned Kenji's abilities for a moment, knowing she could havbe taken the thing out much quicker, then again she was raised by Kenpachi. She thought she could take on anything. She noticed Kenji heading in the direction that the horde's spiritual pressure was coming from, so she followed close behind. She arrived seconds after Kenji to find four Gillian-Class Menos destroying the homes and lives of the Plus souls in the area. She frowned and looked at Kenji as he released his shikai before even arriving to the scene. She then turned her gaze towards the Gillian horde. Each of them had their mouths open wide and bright crimson ceros charging within them. Gripping her blade, her reiatsu flared and changed from pink to a deep sapphire blue. She ignored Kenji's words and leapt up into the air to avoid his little seed cloud, leaving a small crater in the roof of the building she just fled from. She closed her eyes and brought her blade to her lips, lightly kissing the cold steel before speaking. Rise from your eternal slumber, Moumoku Mayonara Fushichou ...Ai to zouo no shinku no jigoku! As she spoke, her body became engulfed in a raging torrent of azure flames. Her blade burst into flames as it took on the form of a serrated broadsword. The flames continued to rage around the blade, dying it jet black. The sky soon turned dark as her spiritual pressure increased to an unbearable level while a large burst of fire and reiatsu collected above her. It soon solidified and took on the form of a massive azure phoenix. The beast measured to nearly the size of an average jet plane with a wingspan of nearly 286 feet. The creature's massive beak parted and let out a thundering cry as every flap of it's magnificent wings caused a storm of flames to rain down around her and her opponents. A devilish grin appeared on her face as the massive bird hovered above her form. Her body was still enveloped in the azure blaze, burning away her shihakusho. The garments were soon replaced with an extravagant kimono composed of blue and gold phoenix feathers. Her hair grew longer surprisingly, her bubblegum pink tresses now extending to her mid back. Her dark pink eyes burned with the desire to protect her home.

She spun her blades in her hands and waved the flames aside, incinerating any potential stray seeds that dare try to use her for soil. She leapt up onto the back of her blazing avian companion and stared her enemies down. Her gaze then shifted back to Kenji, remembering him saying something about a kido and a two minute distraction. Take your two minutes....I'll keep these pea brained monsters busy until your sily Kido is ready.....Moumoku....Shinku Shoku no Gekido... She gave her command to her Zanpakuto spirit's manifestation. The bird let out a shrill cry and rose high into the air. After reaching the proper altitude, Moumoku began to violently flap his massive wings, the torrent of flames and wind creating six large tornadoes to dance around the four Gillian. Each tornado was about fifty feet in height and twenty feet in width. They lit up the area with their azure inferno, yet left all pluses and structures unharmed thanks to Yachiru's impressive control over the cyclones. The twisters served as a barrier for the time being, but could only hold the hollows so long. Yachiru glanced at Kenji before shouting down at her captain. Kenji! You better be charging that Kido! I can't hold them for too long! As she spoke, the Gillian horde had already eliminated one of her tornadoes with their combined ceros that they have been previously charging. There was little time now...

Kenji couldn’t have been bother by looking at the display of power that Yachiru was showing. More of a show then anything, at least in the captain of the 13th division eyes. Sadly the vines that had wrap themselves around the menos’ legs were burnt off by the heat from Yachiru’s shikai, which sucked ass. For now the menos had freedom of moment instead of being restricted by the vines. But whatever, Kenji wanted to use this ability though it would take slightly longer then he wanted it to. For when he was about to make the markings upon the building he was standing, a cero was fired in his direction as Kenji’s just blinked way from the area. Yachiru wouldn’t be able to feel the captain spiritual pressure as it seem to vanish from the area, though this wasn’t the case for Kenji had hidden his pressure so much that menos’ own pressure overlapped his own.

Time wasn’t on his side, so he had to make this quick. Drawing the needed symbols two on one on each hand and the other two on the building. When one of the intricate symbols were finished, one of the menos would get engulf in a red light, the same would happen to the others has the symbols were finished. This was a bakudo known as Geki and it paralyzed the body of the user desired. Now paralyzed the menos should be easy pickings for Yachiru, at least Kenji hoped so.

Yachiru payed no attention to Kenji, her mind was focused on the menos that were slowly destroying her tornadoes. One by one, they vanished until two remained. Yachiru was growing impatient. She noticed a menos firing a cero at Kenji, but he was the big bad captain of Squad thirteen. He could handle a measly cero. What shocked her is that he simply shunpoed out of the way instead of deflecting the cero. The cero missed Kenji, but was now barrelling towards a group of innocent pluses caught in the crossfire. Damn it, Kenji!

Yachiru motioned for Moumoku to swoop down and intercept the cero. Moumoku complied and soared down in between the pluses and the cero. She quickly set her blade on the bird's back and stood up. She stretched oud her arms, angling her hands inward until they were touching. She hated using kido, but it was the easiest and quickest way to counter the weak menos cero. While Moumoku served as a barrier between the pluses and the oncoming cero, Yachiru stated the incantation for Souketsui. Hadou Number Thirty-Three! Souketsui! On command, Yachiru charged and fired a bright blue orb of spiritual energy that looked like an azure fireball. The blast collided with the cero only a few meters in front of her. Yachiru shunpoed down with the pluses who were protected by Moumoku to avoid the explosion caused by the two colliding forces. Crisis averted with little damage to structures.

After the dust setteled, Yachiru noticed something odd. The menos seemed frozen in place. Yachiru then noticed Kenji and that's when it hit her. He must have performed the Kido he spoke of. Yachiru commanded the pluses she rescued to get to a safe place, then hopped back onto Moumoku's back. She gripped her blade and simply nodded to her avian companion. Moumoku nodded back and carried her back towards the hoarde of menos.
When in range, Yachiru took action, with her blade drawn, Yachiru leapt from Moumoku's back and free fell down into the hoarde. She landed on the head of the menos on the far left. She shook her head, almost showing sympathy for the poor, stupid beasts. That feeling quickly left her when she remembered all the trouble they've caused. In a blur of sapphire blue light, Yachiru ripped her serrated blade through the masks of three of the Menos, cutting them down like bamboo twigs. The first one, she sliced from head to foot, cleaving it in half right down the middle. It disappeared in a burst of crimson spirit particles while Yachiru's blade made a transverse slice through the middle of the second one before she shunpoed upward, her blade ripping through the third menos at an upward, diagonal angle. After the three vanquished hollows disappeared, Yachiru was sen standing atop the head of the fourth, her expression was just as hardened and cold as it was perviously when she made her first kill. She huffed and sheathed her blade, sealing her Shikai. Moumoku cried out before he burst into a shower of harmless blue fireballs that fizzled out in mid air. Yachiru didn't need her Shikai anymore. A waste of energy. She simply hopped down onto the menos' long, needle like nose, stared directly into it's hungry red eyes, then buried her fist right in between them. She glared coldly at the beast as she ripped it's mask in half along the fissure made by the impact of her fist. The Menos howled in agony before bursting into a mass of spirit particles. Yachiru stood on nothing but air, her back to Kenji, her bloodied fist still balled up and resting at her side. Her now waist length hair swayed lightly in the calm breeze that whistled through the Seireitei. A calm before the storm as some may say.

A sigh escaped his lips as he watched the rest of the events unfolded. The captain of the 13th division had already planned that three of the remaining hollows will be his. For he knew that the last of twelve hollows wouldn’t be as easy as these fools, and thus he will need Yachiru at full strength. Looking at the direction of Yachiru he would speak in a calm voice “Fix up that wound. Let me have some fun for once.” He said, before flash stepping away. One...step...two...step...three steps Kenji would come resting on top of a near by building. His eyes would fall on the chaos before him, an Adjucha class hollow was attacking the innocents below and was about to attack, a child with it’s clawed paw.

However the attack would be futile as the child was scooped up by the captain of the 13th division and was placed in a safe location far away from the action. “Everyone get out the way.” was all he said, as roots sprouted from the ground and created a dome like cage around Kenji and the Adjucha class hollow, seperating themselves from the rest of the outside. This was Kenji fight and he didn’t want anyone to get injured by his zanpakuto. “Lets dance.” Was the words he spoke, as the beast charged towards Kenji, at full speed. Kenji knew this would be better for everyone because this way, no one will get hurt and Yachiru could fix up her wound.

Yachiru simply glanced over her shoulder as Kenji spoke to her. He told her to dress her wounds. Before she could respond, he had already vanished. She could feel his spiritual pressure, along with the spiritual pressure of an Adjuchas class menos to the west. She looked in other directions, then sighed. An adjuchas to the east and west....a Gillian to the south....and a Menos Grande to the north.....heh....piece of cake... She grinned that same bloodthirsty grin that Kenpachi always had before a fight, then shunpoed east of her previous position. She was going to knock out the other Adjuchas while Kenji handled his, the Gillian, and the Menos Grande. She stopped a good distance from the Adjuchas' position and examined her bloodied right arm and knuckles. Blood was already seeping through her hakama-himo. She sighed and figured she had better take Kenji's advice and dress her wounds before taking on the Adjuchas. The one that she was after felt so much stronger than the lion like one she faced previously. She may need her arm for this. She sat down on a nearby rooftop and pulled off her kosode and shitagi. She had her chest wrapped up with white bandaging, so she wasn't exposing herself to the general public. Using her blade, she cut her white shitagi into strips about three inches wide. She used the shitagi strips to bind up her bloodied shoulder, making sure the strips were tied tight to create pressure on the bleeding areas. She learned this method from watching Kenpachi. She then sliced the sleeves of her kosode off and then cut them into strips, using some on her shoulder, then the remaining of her wounded hand. She then put her now sleeveless Kosode back on, then Kenpachi's Haori on over that. She flexed her arm and her hand a bit, then smiled. She felt as good as new....for the most part. She's pay a visit to the medical division later on. She sighed a bit and brushed her hair out of her eyes. Annoyed with her new hair do already, she grabbed a leftover strip of fabric, then tied her hair back into a ponytail. Pleased with being able to see, she headed east, finding herself face to face with a tiger like adjuchas. The beast spotted her, then charged her at full speed. Oh yes...there will be blood.

[Okay so I have one and you have three?]

Kenji managed to block the claw like attack from the Aduchas class meno, as he parry it’s arm to the right before thrusting his zanpakuto at the chest of the beast. This was no use to say the least for the Adjucha just parried the captain’s own attempted at a strike, before opening it’s mouth and charging up a cero. The captain wouldn’t let this happen for he brought his chin to the Adjuchas’ mouth sending the about to be fired cero into the root like roof that incased the two victims. The beast slid back from the force kick and charged at the man once more, this time it ran in a zig-zag pattern trying to confuse the captain.

That wasn’t going happen for Kenji caught the beasts leg as it tried to kick him in the temple and sent it flying against the rooted wall of the cage. When the beast slammed into the wall with a loud thud, the roots that made up the cage began to wrap themselves around the struggling beast. The more the beast struggled the tighter the roots got “Time to split.” Was all he said, as the roots began to torturing process of ripping the Adjuchas apart. The sicken sound of muscles tearing and bones breaking was heard, along with the screams of the beast. Suddenly everything felt silence as Kenji emerged from the dome like cage, in which the cage merged itself back into the ground in which it came from.

Taken along with it, the remains of the dying Adjuchas it would provide decent food for Kenji’s plants. Speaking of plants, time have passed long enough for the one that been embedded within him to grow and sprout into it’s monstrous form. A sigh escaped his lips as he looks for Yachiru’s spiritual pressure and found it, using his blink technique would appear to the right of the charging beast and kick it in it’s gut sending it flying into a direction of another building. However before the beast manage to hit, the captain would have appear in front of the building and kick the mighty beast upward in the air. “Finish it...” His words were cold, as the beast was now falling back down to the ground.

The captain began to walk pass Yachiru and a cold chill would over come her, as her captain would move the people within the area into a say location.

[Bad idea, Kenji....lol]

Yachiru took a fighting stance as the tiger like Adjuchas charged. She was going to fight the thing without her sword. She was too stubborn to waste time by drawing her blade. She wanted to kill the thing with her bare hands. The beast was the size of an average male bengal tiger, and twice as deadly. Not bad. She could handle it with ease. The adjuchas roared and pounced, and Yachiru was just about to send her fist through the beast's teeth when Kenji interfered and knocked the beast towards a building, then up into the air before telling her to finish it. Yachiru scowled and snapped. Damn it! I was about to finish the little pussy cat before you got in my way! I can handle things myself! I don't need your damn help, Kenji. I'm not some weakling! Yachiru was fuming. She was sick of Kenji thinking she needed his help all the time. She simply stood still and watched the tiger plummet back to the ground, landing back on its feet like any cat would. She was thoroughly pissed off now and needed to release her anger on this kitty cat's face. She shot Kenji another cold glare as he moved the pluses to a safe place. Stay out of my way.... she snapped at Kenji once more before turning her attention to the adjuchas. The cat roared as if it was challenging her. Yachiru simply grinned and raised her fists. Here, kitty kitty kitty..... The tiger like hollow pounced at her and pinned her to the ground, ripping its claws across her stomach. Yachiru simply smirked. She had the tiger's jaws in her grasp, it's top jaws in her left hand and its bottom jaws in her right. She grinned that wicked grin and began to pull the cat's mouth open wider and wider until a hideous crack was heard. She didn't stop there. She pulled harder and harder, blood from the cat's mouth now spurting from the ripping flesh. She heard a pop, she had separated the maxilla from the mandible. With a hard jerk of her right hand, she ripped the cat's mandible off. The beast let out a wicked cry of agony before it fell on it's side, writhing in a pool of it's own blood. She wasn't done. Taking the tiger's mandible, she rose to her feet, ignoring the stinging pain of the clawmarks across her stomach. She gripped the mandible, then shoved it into it's throat, then pulled it back out, ripping away flesh and muscle. The beast kicked twiice, then lay still before vanishing in a burst of spirit particles. Yachiru wiped her bloody hands on her hakama, then looked around for Kenji, wondering if he even started on either of the last two hollows in the area yet.

Oh how Yachiru would regret saying those words. Before she even finished off the target, Kenji had disappeared and left the area. Yachiru said she could handle it, so this captain was going to see if she could handle it by herself. He didn’t have nothing to prove to anyone, well besides one person and it was that person he was going to see, leaving Seireitei in the hands of Yachiru. Appearing in the West 78th Rukongai district, he made his way through the crowd of people looking for a certain female. Those within the district looked at the captain of the 13th division, some even wondered why he wasn’t helping with the attack upon the Seireitei. That was none of their concern.

Coming up to a wooden structure, he would gently knock on the door as an elder woman appeared. The woman simply nodded at the man standing in front of her and motion for him to come in. Her home wasn’t the best of things in the world but it was livable due to the circumstances that surrounded her. “I thought you would come by here. Want a cigarette?” The elderly lady ask, pulling one for herself and lighting it.

“Of course...” Was all he said, as he took a cigarette and did the same. Despite him vanishing away from his duties it was because of Yachiru’s big mouth that cause this. She said she could handle it, and now she got her wish. However, Kenji was going to take a break and talk to an old friend. “So how long has it been?”

The elderly lady looked out the window and noticed the smoke in the distance “Since you entered the academy. Thought you would have forgotten your old friend?” The woman said, smiling half-heartedly.

Taking another drag from the cigarette, he blew the smoke out through his nose “Last time I remember my friend wasn’t living in this shit-hole.”

“I’m fine, nothing seems to phrase this old lady anymore. And what about you? Captain Mamoru.” The last part was said in joking manner.

“Don't get all formal on my ass. Kenji is just fine. And well where should I begin?” He asked, removing his haori and throwing it across the chair. Kenji knew he would catch hell for this but he could have cared less at the moment.

“From the beginning...” Was all the lady said, taking another puff from the cig.

Yachiru was growing increasingly annoyed with Kenji's behavior. What kind of captain abandons a mission like this one. She couldn't sense his spiritual pressure anywhere. She felt the tiny hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. His abandonment of the mission won't end well for him. However, it left her with the last two hollows. The final two were weak compared to the others she recently killed. She wanted to find a way to lure one to the other, then take them both out at once, but in the shape her body was in now, that could only end badly. She figured she had better take out the Gillian class menos out before the Menos Grande since it was stronger than the menos. She gripped her sheathed sword for a moment, then let it go. She didn't want to use it again. Not just yet. She headed south, using her high speed shunpo to get her to the area quicker. There, she found it, the Gillian that was terrorizing a group of defenseless pluses. She began with an evac of the area, making sure all the pluses were escorted to a safe place. Once the evac was complete, she turned her attention to the gillian. The hollow howled and slammed it's hand down onto Yachiru, trapping her between its hooked claws like a cage. She sighed a bit and drew her blade. She swung it horizontally, slicing four of it's five fingers off before she shunpoed out of range. The hollow roared in agony and gripped its wrist while attempting to regenerate the severed digits. At the same time, it charges a blood red cero in it's mouth. Yachiru didn't plan on giving it time to get the attack out. Shunpoing forward, she raised her blade, bringing it down through the Gillian's face with a vertical slash. Her blade cleaved the hollow's mask in two. Another one bite's the dust. It was time to head to the northern part of the Seireitei. Only one more left....I don't need Kenji...he's a deserter... She sniffed in disgust and flash stepped on, heading northbound to take out the final threat. Hopefully her body would hold out long enough. She was losing blood. A lot of it.

[Forgot the one Kenji just killed]

“And that’s everything.” Kenji said finishing off his cigarette and sighing. Reclining back in the chair his eyes looked out into the distances and wondered how Yachiru was handling the hollows? Why should he care, she said she could handle it by herself, she got what she wanted and Kenji got another day off. The elderly noticed the look within the man’s eyes who was sitting in front of her.

“You are a captain. Why ain’t you helping her fight against those hollows?” The elderly lady asked, curious to see what the man’s answer would be.

“She thinks just because her grew up in one of the lowest districts and that she was raised by one of the most feared captains. That she could do everything on her own, she thinks that she doesn’t need anyone.” He said, shaking his head.

“Sounds like someone I know, ain’t that right Kenji?” The woman said with a smile, taking another cigarette out and lighting it.

“I guess, but the only difference is. My zanpakuto spirit; Koutaigou Jinkourin taught me to enjoy life for it’s to short. Never be too serious for nothing can come from it. Be humble and remember there is always someone out there to take your place. But more importantly, she showed me what it truly meant to be afraid. Death is easy, but losing those around you while you still living is down right hard. She showed me this and I thank her for it.” He said, taking a drag from another cigarette.

“Maybe you should show her this. Your zanpakuto is unique and no one really understands the truth behind it. Why not show Yachiru? Show her why you refuse to fight with everything you have? Show her why you were at one point afraid of the very plants that you use.” The elderly lady said with a smile.

His fingers traced along his zanpakuto “That will remain my secret. No one needs to know that I have yet fully mastered my bankai, heck my shikai is only eighty percent mastered. The controlling of these plants are taxing.” He said, standing up from the chair. “Thanks for the talk, I will make my visits more frequent. As of now I must leave.”

“Very well, don’t be a stranger.” The elderly lady said, embracing Kenji and kissing his cheek. Of course he would return the gesture. Before Kenji made it out the door he turned back at elderly lady “Take care. And you know where to find me.”

Walking out of the building, he blinked to the north side of the Seireitei. The sound of people screaming and running from their lives were seen below him. His flash step, he began the rather long task of rounding everyone up into a nice group “Stay here, I will protect you with my life.” Was all he said, as a wall of roots and vines formed a rather large dome around the innocence.

Now the waiting game began, the hollow was close and it was coming in Kenji’s direction.

Yachiru continued on her northbound journey. Her movements were a tad bit slower now due to the loss of blood. She was fueled by her anger towards Kenji at the moment. He wanted to abandon her, then fine. She'd prove that she could do it on her own. She flash stepped a bit farther until she caight a glimpse of the Menos Grande. What she saw up ahead from it surprised her more. Her eyes narrowed, smouldering beneath half closed lids. Kenji. He honestly didn't think I could do this?! Has he no faith in me?! As her anger built, so did her spiritual pressure. It flared up dramatically, catching the menos grande's attention. The hollow turned and opened it's massive mouth, charging a crimson cero within its gaping maw. Yachiru simply stood in the same place, her eyes burning with a mixture of rage towards Kenji and determination to prove herself. She wasn't the child that everyone thought she was. She wasn't just some helpless little girl. She felt the wind caress her open wounds on her stomach, the air making them sting a little. She simply sucked it up and sheathed her blade, then began to speak the incantation for Souketsui again while she put her hands in the proper form. Hadou number thirty-three....Souketsui.... The moment the hollow fired the cero, she fired the kido, the two colliding in mid air to create an almost elegant purple explosion. Black smoke filled the air. A perfect cover. Yachiru moved quickly, drawing her blade while using the smoke as cover. She flash stepped in front of the hollow, burying her blade in between it's sunken black eyes. The creature howled it's dying song before vanishing in the typical burst of red spirit particles. The threat was finally neutralized. Yachiru straightened her posture and sheathed her blade before glancing over her shoulder at where she sensed Kenji's presence. She closed her eyes, soon falling unconscious from the excessive bleeding. She plummeted to the ground, hitting it with a loud crash. She was in bad shape, but she did what she aimed to do. She eliminated the hollow threat without Kenji. ...I don't need you.....I don't need anybody...

The sudden rise of the Yachiru’s spiritual pressure caught Kenji off guard, as he watched the event before him un folded. And here he thought she didn’t like using kido, he said mentally to himself. Once the threat was dealt with the roots that had protected the innocents uncoiled themselves and returned back into the earth. Those that were incase thank Kenji, but he just shook his head and said not wanting to accept the thanks “You should thank Yachiru.” was the words, he spoke, as he made his way towards where she laid unconscious.

“Too much like someone I use to know.” Was all he said before picking her up, the wound upon her body wasn’t that bad, and Kenji’s zanpakuto could heal it but he decided against it. Looking in the direction of the fourth division he would blink her into one of the empty rooms, and he began to dress and fix up the wound. Using the stuff that was present within the area, the appearance of Kenji and an jnjuryed woman startled a lower seated officer. But seeing that the captain had someone who was in need of medical attention, officer went to work in helping the captain with anything he needed.

Yachiru would be up and running in a matter of days. Kenji however would stay beside her within the quarters of the fourth division, till she gets better. That’s the least he could do.

[Is this the end of the mission then, or do we keep going?]
