Yachiru's 400th Annual Christmas Party!! [Open to all Shinigami ^^]

The Squad Thirteen barracks' halls were decked with colorful streamers and garland. Mistletoe hung from nearly every doorway. A massive christmas tree, decorated with white lights, silver garland, and a multitude of candy canes sat in the main area of the barracks. Yachiru was running around like crazy, trying to get all the preparations for the party set. She had been stuck in the fourth division for too long. Her party was a couple days late, but she was well determined to put it on. A large table near the tree held a variety of snacks and a punch bowl full of eggnog. Plastic cups were stacked next to the bowl for easy access. A few of her squad mates were already digging into the variety of snacks and drinks, that is..when they weren't staring at her outfit. Yachiru was dressed in a rather risque santa outfit composed of a long sleeved red top that barely covered her rather well developed chest, and a rather short red skirt with a black belt. The top and skirt were trimmed in plush white fur. The ensemble was completed by a pair of knee high black leather boots and a festive santa hat. Her now waist length pink hair hing freely, dancing around her form as she scurried about. After hours of preparations, the party was set up. She already noticed more shinigami from other divisions arriving. She greeted them with a cherrful smile, anxious to see if more than just unseated shinigami would show up. She knew she sent out invitations and hell butterflies. All she had to do now was wait and be a good hostess.

A hooded figure slumped against the wall outside of the eleventh division, a shadow looming over his face like an omen of death. A few fourth division members passed this figure without even taking a second look. It could have been they were scared of him, perhaps that was the most likely, but it also could have been because of who this man was. Sumiyoshi Hiei, a Shinigami of course. However, unlike most Shinigami, he had recently been released from the Maggots Nest, a place where the most malevolent and dangerous of Shinigami spend their days. While Hiei was in fact a really kind person, he had a lack of control over his abilities when certain emotions ran high, thus making him a potential threat. He was however released, due to the fact that one day it was quite possible he would learn to control his power, and be a huge asset to Soul Society.

But this day was unlike many others. Today, he himself had recieved an invitation to some kind of Christmas party. Now, he had no idea what Christmas was, but a party didn't sound too bad. Sighing slightly, he pushed himself from the wall, a slight smile decorating his thin lips. His uniform was already making him stand out, but he had nothing else worth wearing, so he kept it on to go with the party. A bit formal, but that was to be expected from him. Taking his first step, he simply looked up at the sky, enjoying the scenery as he made his way to the thirteenth divisions barracks. The location of the party.

As he walked in, he glanced over at each and every person there. Most, if not all, were dressed up for the occasion, and clearly enjoying themselves. Removing his hood, he revealed his almost flawless face to the outside world. His flame red and bright white hair gave him away almost instantly. His hair already had the christmas spirit! Which was more than what could be said about him. Several leaves covered the room, for a reason that was completely unknown to Hiei. Shrugging slightly, he moved towards the large table which literally held its own weight in food and drink. He picked up a few snacks, and ate them slowly, still gazing across the room. Before long, he had finished the snacks and wiped his lips down. He couldn't look bad for anyone now, could he?

Grabbing hold of a plastic cup, he filled it with the white liquid that was sitting in a large glass bowl. Bringing the cup to his lips, he took a small sip. "...Urgh... Clah... What the heck is that?" he muttered to himself, his facial expression saying more than words ever could. His neck muscles could be seen contracting through, quite clearly, his displeasure at drinking the egg nog. He didn't like it, and was unsure why all the unseated Shinigami seemed to love it. It was at that point he noticed the host, Captain of the Thirteenth Division, miss Yachiru Kusajishi. She was dressed in, for lack of a better word, something that someone planning on getting laid would. After staring for a couple of seconds, he shook his head in order to clear his mind.

"Taicho Kusajishi, a pleasure to meet you." he said, leaning onto one knee and pushing his hand out. He was definitely a gentlemen, and clearly had a great deal of respect for all the Gotei 13. He hadn't met this young woman before, but he had more than enough knowledge about her. Keeping his position in a kneeled state, he awaited her reply, all the while looking down at the floor.

Yachiru giggled and waltzed about the barracks, meeting and greeting all who decided to show up. She knew it was way past Christmas in the human world, but a simple technicality like that wasn't going to stop the young Captain from having her fun. She noticed many males still eyeing her attire. She lightly sighed a bit and cursed under her breath. She was going to punish and and all who thought the naive female should wear such a thing. Whenever she passed a member of her division, she gave them a swift slap on the back of the head before walking off, whistling a cheery tune.

That's when a newcomer caught her attention. Yachiru blinked, watching the odd cloaked male sampling a few of the treats before taking a sip of the egg nog. She giggled at his response to the beverage. It took a aquired taste to enjoy such an unusual drink. She then watched as the male approached her. The first thing she noticed was his red and white hair. She giggled. How festive! She then watched as the male knealt down before her, extending his hand while greeting her. She watched him for a moment before giggling yet again. Whatcha doing on the floor, Mister Santa Hair? She reached out for his hand, gripping it lightly before jerking him back to his feet. There we go! Now we can talk so much better like this, don't you agree? What's your name, Mr. Stranger? Yachiru spoke politely while patting the male's unusual head of hair. She had never met this guy before. She figured he was a new recruit or something. She simply smiled a kind smile while awaiting the male's response.

"How festive!" was the first thing Hiei had heard, coming from the lips of the young woman standing before him. He had no idea what she was on about, but that didn't bother him too much. Admittedly, some would probably consider him odd due to his complete confusion by the word Christmas, but as someone who was born in Japan, it was pretty acceptable to not know this. It was at this point that the Taicho of the Thirteenth Division asked him why he was on the floor. "Erm, it's a sign of respect, Kusajishi Taicho." he said, so that only she could hear. His voice didn't flutter, and there was no hint of sarcasm. He was honestly answering a question that the woman had asked.

After asking him, she grasped hold of his hand and pulled him up to his feet. He almost tripped as she did, clearly not expecting her to do such a thing. However, he had been fighting enough to know how to keep his balance, and as such didn't trip and headbutt her straight in the nose. Lucky lady. Finally seeing eachother face to face, she genuinely looked like she was having fun. Even Captains showed happiness at times it seemed. His thin lips curling into a smile, he simply nodded at her.

"There we go! Now we can talk so much better like this, don't you agree? What's your name stranger?" she asked, taking a clear interest in his life. Truth be told, it was nice being able to speak to someone for once. He hadn't had a proper conversation since leaving the Nest of Maggots, so he wasn't going to complain. "Hah, I guess you're right. My name is Sumiyoshi Hiei, the Third Seat of the Eleventh Division. I was just taken back into the division a few weeks ago, which is the likely reason you haven't seen me yet." he said with a smile still on his lips. He didn't want to speak too much about himself, but he would still happily answer any questions she may have.

"So, why the party? I've never heard of a christmas party before." he said, revealing his clear lack of knowledge about the situation. He listened closely to what she had to say, after all, it wasn't every day a Third Seat spoke to a Captain of a different Division.

Yachiru let out a squeal of delight when he said he was a member of the eleventh division. Yachiru had a soft spot for Squad Eleven, mainly because she longed to retake the squad with Kenpachi one day, that is if he ever returned. She giggled and pulled the male into a tight, friendly hug. Well, Hi-kun! It's a pleasure to meet one of Squad Eleven! I was once a Lieutenant of that squad when I was...well..smaller. She smiled and released the male, gently patting his head. Yachiru had to be one of the more bubbly, friendly captains. She didn't hate anyone as far as she knew. She liked it that way.

A sudden gasp escaped her lips, her dark pink optics growing wide as he mentioned not knowing what Christmas was. You don't know what Christmas is?! That's maaaaaadneeeesssssssss! Christmas is a human holiday that takes place during their month of December. It's a big, big, BIIIIIG deal for humans. They decorate strange trees, eat a lot, and give each other presents! I thought it sounded like fun, so I decided to bring a taste of the Holiday to the Seireitei! It's fun so far! Don't you think?! Yachiru was clearly getting more and more excited as she explained the holiday to the male. She loved the feeling of joy that came with the holiday. She giggled and patted Hiei's back. Oh I saw you trying the egg nog! I guess you've never had the stuff before. It's an aquired taste, heh.. She smiled, chuckling nervously.
