The new lieutenant of Squad 6

Lightning didn't lift her head from the paperwork as Kenshirou walked over towards the desk and sat down himself to attend to some. She could see him signing and stamping away as she read over the papers carefully, she couldn't shake the feeling that perhaps having someone that just drank so much alcohol attending to important paperwork was not such a good idea. She noticed his smile and lifted her gaze from the form she was filling out. "Do you believe it wise to be attending to important matters in such a state?" Fair enough he did not look intoxicated but looks could be deceiving and frankly she did not want to take the chance that these forms would be filled in half-assed. Now in the midst of the crisis they were all suffering was not the time to create more hassles with innapropriately filed paperwork.

Not to mention the new captain of the 10th Division, a woman named Rina would almost definately eat him alive for creating hassles for herself. Oh and of course she would annoy Lightning as well, but in truth she was not scared of this captain or her lectures she might throw her way for it.

Lightning stated that Kenshirou was working under the influence of alcohol. She had a reason as any forms he may have filled in may have been unnecessary or even out of their budget to execute that order. Kenshirou chuckled and looked up as he was writing. "Don't worry, Taicho. I'm hardly touched. Drinking sake is like drinking water to me. Although small amounts do make me drowsy." Kenshirou said as he lowered his voice towards the end of his speech. "If you are concerned, I will have a look over them tomorrow to see if I have made any errors. No worries." Kenshirou smiled.

He continued to fill out the forms until he got to the point where he stretched and stood up to work his legs as he walked around the room once more. He looked towards Lightning again and immediately thought of a question. He approached her carefully and sat back down in the chair opposite. "Taicho. What are the other Taicho's like? And the Captain Commander?" Do you think they are equal to, or greater than the previous Taicho's, or are they irreplaceable?" Kenshirou said with concern.

He scratched his head and lay back in the chair, placing his arms behind his head as usual. He looked outside the window from the chair to the other barracks that he could see and pondered. What where they like? There was much he needed to learn about the current situation in Soul Society. The disappearance of the recent officers have been quite a problem as anyone could tell. But where the new candidates fit for the positions they were appointed to? Where they strong enough. Was he even strong enough for his own position? The questions seemed to pile up, just like the stacks of paper upon his desk.

Lightning pondered over the statement made by Kenshirou...so he drank alcohol that much it had little to no effect upon his system's functions anymore? That would be quite the feat, not something she was sure she would be proud of herself. Silence filled the room once more as the pair began to work through the papers with a rather impressive pace. Lightning had done this many times before during her time as captain of the 6th division previously, although she had to admit to herself that she was rather rusty due to her time in the royal guard. Her eye began to twitch slightly as she looked upon a rather HUGE bill for the demolition of an entire building.....destroyed by Renji Abarai during a fight with Ichigo Kurosaki. Ahhhh yes she had heard about the events that involved that boy and his comrades.

Lightning did not stop her work as Kenshirou stood and stretched his legs, it would seem he was quite the active type and not yet used to remaining seated for long periods of time. In fact she too was beginning to feel the effects on her legs also, it would seem that her time in the royal guard had made her rusty in this area also. Feeling his eyes set upon her she waited for the question that would no doubt be heading her way. As he sat back down opposite her she raised her gaze to meet his as he spoke of his question.

"Everyone is vastly different, i cannot even hope to describe the taicho's to you in summary. As for the new Captain Commander, i have met him scarsely. He is a young man with strong ideals and considerable strength. I feel he will do just fine in his newly appointed role." Lightning paused as she though about the next part of his question, Were they better than the previous taicho's? Part of her wanted to scoff and shake her head at his question, it was ridiculous to her. After all she was no substitute for Byakuya, he was the perfect captain for the 6th division in her opinion. But that was the 6th division..she knew little of the others and the previous captains so she phrased her words carefully. "in time they may prove to become better, but right now they lack the experience and knowledge to be so"

Kenshirou listened carefully to the words that escaped his Captain's mouth. The Captain's currently in position in her opinion were not as strong yet do have the potential to become stronger one day. A wise answer and an honest one which is what Kenshirou wanted to hear. Of course the new Captain's will live up to the standards to the previous, Soul Society could not function appropriately if they weren't fit for their positions. Kenshirou then thought of the previous Vice-Captains. Where are they now? What where they doing? Will they ever come back? The same things came back to haunt Kenshirou's mind and no doubt, several others'.

In one hand, all these questions could have been building up for this moment in Kenshirou's life. He did promise himself to rise to Captain level one day and here he was, in his very own chambers as Vice-Captain of the sixth squad. He was proud yet concerned which is mostly why these thoughts may have clouded his vision of the world in Soul Society to this day. On the other hand, was this really what he did feel.

He looked at his Captain once again and noticed her facial expressions as the bills became higher for each certain paper she picked up and signed for. A stressful job indeed, with money coming out of their pockets. He then found that he respected her and was thankful for the Captain that he had. Kenshirou then smiled and continued to do his paperwork in hopes that there was a bright future ahead. No-one could give up hope now, not ever. With the new squad captains and other seated officers, Soul-Society has become a reliable source and truly was a happier place to be for spirits in the real world.
