| "...I'm usually a morning person" The sun had barely started peeking its head over the horizon, only the keenest of birds chirping their early morning song. A yawn escaped the lips of Hiyro as he shuffled down the empty hallways of the first division barracks, supposedly having been the first to arrive. The previous night had been spent doing some paperwork, but he had been keeping up with it fairly well lately, and hadn't had to pull an all nighter for a while now, so why was he so tired? He usually was able to function on little to no sleep, and even though it felt like he hadn't slept in three days, he had just for about 6 hours. His wooden sandals scoffed loudly on the floors as he dragged his feet tiredly, the sound amplified by the echoes of the empty hallways.
Now why was he the first to arrive for the day's work today? Well,Hiyro had arranged to meet with all his captains, he wanted to get to know them a little. Today was the day that he had been looking forward to for a while. He was going to be meeting Lighting, a very well known shinigami. Even though he had very little connections to the Gotei 13 before becoming captain commander, he had still heard of her and what she had accomplished.
He was about an hour early still, but he wanted to have time to read over some information before the meeting. Arriving at his office, he stepped inside, closing the door behind him. He didn't want to be disturned for a bit. Heading over to his desk, he sat down and pulled out a pile of papers, looking through them, finally pulling out a few sheets that were bound together. Even though he had already read over these information sheets about his captains, his lilac eyes scanned the worn paper. The information was most likely already memorized, but he just wanted to be sure. There was no room for mistakes, not now. He was confident that they had assembled a great team in the absence of so many shinigami, so Hiyro mostly worried if the others would like him. Each meeting he had was exciting, and nerve racking at the same time.
It didn't seem like a long time, but before he knew it, there was a knock at his office door. Putting away his papers, he looks up at the door after a moment, "Come in!" he said, having to stifle a yawn afterwards. Damn, he was still so tired... hopefully Lightning didn't notice.

| Lightning had recieved a message stating that the newly appointed captain commander wished to see her, surely it was just a routine meeting...even if it wasn't Lightning was far from intimidated by the thought of meeting the captain commander. Part of her wondered what this new captain commander would be like, but the larger more dominating part of her really didn't care. Lightning looked at the Capatain Commander like no other shinigami, they had a position albeit the highest but still a rank that could be taken like any other. They had rules, sure less of them but still there were consequences for their actions if deemed unjust or wrong. Her unique view on the captain commander meant that she didn't see them as being so scary.
As she walked the rather too empty halls of the 1st division she found the silence rather comforting, if only the halls of all divisions were so quiet...especially her own. She knocked on the door to the captain commanders office, upon hearing the response from Hiyro she opened the door slowly. It was obvious to the sharp senses of Lightning that the captain commander was tired, and it was obvious that he was trying his best to hide that very fact from her. As her cold blue orbs took in the appearance of the new captain commander she could not help but be surprised, he was indeed alot younger than she had imagined...or at least he appeared to be so. His bright red hair was in stark contrast to his uniform and would no doubt draw alot of attention.
"You seem tired, perhaps it would be better to move the meeting to later"

| "...I'm usually a morning person" A small, quiet, yet hearty chuckle filled the room at her words, Hiyro shaking his head. [color=darkblue]"Nono, I'll be fine. Please, sit down, Lightning-taichou." he said as he indicated towards the seat across from him. Though these meetings shouldn't have come as a surprise for the captains, Hiyro couldn't help but wonder how much stress he may be causing some of them. The message sent out was not specific at all, and could have been interpreted as many things. The thought of their needless panic would be entertaining, but not in these circumstances. It sucked that everything had to be so serious all the time.
After waiting for her to sit down, he began explaining why he had called her, which he assumed she was probably wondering right about now. "The reason I called you here today was just to kind of touch base with you, answer any of your questions." He hated to be so formal, but knew the situation called for it. Each one of these meetings were very important for him as a leader. "I know you were the former 6th squad captain before Kuchiki-taichou...so I'm fairly certain things are running as usual, yes?" 6th squad was probably one of the most organized squads to begin with, he had no doubt that lightning was doing a good job.

| As he spoke the young captain commander revealed his soft and rather courtious nature to Lightning, she could have scoffed and laughed really...here before her was someone actually being so by choice; a rare event. Captain Commander may have been just a rank but it was a rank that allowed you to act much more how to say......lenient. Yet Hiyro was actually being courtious to her by choice..how very odd.
"The division is indeed holding up in Byaku..Kuchiki taicho's absence." Lightning was having trouble remembering that she was now a captain once more, and the proper honourific terms that she should have been using. Out of the divisions she had seen and heard the status of Lightning had to agree that the 6th division had to be holding up perhaps the best of them all. They were indeed a very organised division and that organisation had ensurted that they held up well in the current situation.
"Have you learnt anything as of yet?" Lightning wasn't one to beat around the bush in these situations, her straight-forward personality crept to the surface once more.

| "...I'm usually a morning person" He was glad to hear that the 6th division was doing well. In times like this, strong leaders were needed to keep everybody else in order. If the order were to be imbalanced, havoc would outbreak, he just knew it. He was also glad that even in the absence of so many of their top skilled shinigami, Soul Society was still able to come together and compensate for the loss so quickly.
His face saddened as she asked if there was any news on the missing. Even though the question was very straightforward, he didn't mind at all. There was no problem with being blunt, he actually preferred the quality in a leader. He also knew that she wasn't the type of person to not speak her mind. He asked if she had any questions, and she asked one.
He shook his head slowly, looking down at his hands. "No, I'm sorry. There's been no news. But as soon as I receive any information everyone will be notified. I plan to keep everyone updated with what is happening. Most are missing loved ones, we don't want to keep them in the dark." Although he hadn't lost anyone to the mysterious occurrences, he was sure that most had at least one person they cared about go missing.

| Lightning hadn't expected any answer other than that which she was given, it would take time for the missing to be found or even for anything to be known about the event which seemed to be linked to their disappearances. Rumours of those who went missing becoming vizards were among the first to flourish but were just as quickly squashed under heel by those in authority as rubbish like so many bugs beneath the feet of mankind. In fact she herself had severely traumatised a poor seated officer when she had heard them speaking of it, well to be honest she had not meant to do so. You see un-be-known to Lightning she had quite the spectaculer aura, her face and body language normally did not portray her true emotions on a given subject but her aura well that was another matter entirely. When angry she had a way of scaring or intimidating those around her without so much as even a glance or word uttered from her lips...of course her rank also aided that fear factor she instilled within them.
To be frank she didn't know exactly what she and the new captain commander would talk about, her division was doing fine and there was nothing for her to report per say. And there seemed to be no news on his end to report either...surely seeming as he invited her there must have been something he wished to speak about. Then again he didn't seem the super organised type to her, maybe he just did it on a whim...oh joy a whimsical captain commander. Not one to find break silence is they did not have anything to say Lightning waited in silence for a reason to speak.

| "...I'm usually a morning person" There was a few moments of awkward silence where they just sat, staring at each other. Hiyro was not sure what else to say at this point, and the longer the silence lasted, the clearer it became that Lightning wasn't going to be starting up a conversation. Maybe he should have just left the meeting of all the captains to the Meeting he had been intending on calling very soon. But it seemed like such a waste to just call her here for nothing. He smiled as his hands mindlessly shuffled some papers around on his desk, finally gathering them all into a neat pile. "Well that's all I really wanted to discuss. Usually around this time I go for a training session, would you like to join me for a friendly spar?"
He still wasn't feeling 100% awake, but maybe a good friendly fight would get his blood pumping. He really hoped that she would take him up on his offer, having heard and read much about her skills. It was a spur of the moment decision to invite her, but Hiyro believed that the best way of getting to know someone was not through talking, but through fighting. Before coming here, he would spar with some of the fellow assassins for fun all the time. They never played to win, just for enhancing skills.
damn, sorry for the long wait >.<

| ((OOC: that's o.k, i understand ^^. If you have read my absense thread you will know why my posts are short >.<)))
Lightning raised an eyebrow at the proposition she heard uttered from Hiyro's mouth. Lightning was brave and held no fear in the eye of combat, but was fighting the captain commander more than she would attest to having the courage to do? Lightning had never turned away from a fight and she wouldn't start now, was there a chance of victory? perhaps, perhaps not but she would not find out if she did not accept the challenge now would she? As she felt Zetsu-maru react to the challenge like a puppy eager for a walk she knew that he too was on board for the sparring match.
Staring into Hiryo's eyes she tried to gauge just how comfortable he was in offering this match, he seemed steady and confident. Perhaps just perhaps Lightning had finally bitten off more than she could chew in this upcoming spar. "Very well, i have wondered if you are indded suitable to lead the Gotei 13. This will allow me to be certain."
((OOC: BTW if you want to you can start the thread in the training grounds now or you can post here some more first, it is up to you and if you have anything to post here))

| "...I'm usually a morning person" A large smile grew on his face as she accepted his offer. She hadn't been at his initiation, so she had yet to witness his unique abilities. Of course during their spar, she will not be subjected to his most powerful attacks, but it would be a fun experience none the less. He hoped she wouldn't take it too seriously. Standing gracefully, he offered her a small bow. "Excellent! I shall meet you down in the training grounds in ten minutes. That is enough time to gather what you need, ne?"
Hiyro had always been one to be somewhat ambitious, and once his mind was set on something, he kind of forgot about the small things like manners or anything of the sort. So in his excitement to start their spar, he headed out of his office without dismissing the meeting with lightning, or even waiting for her response to his question. She was intelligent enough to let herself out...
