What Are You....(Private, Closed)

Tenrai after leaving the Grill and Bar departed to the outskirts of Karakura Town. He seperated from his gigai and took a deep breath. It was hard for him to surpress his reaitsu for extremely long periods of time. It wasnt usually a hard task, however when he went to the bar he thought it would be in his best interest to completely surpress his reaitsu. He noticed that girl, Moka had done something, perhaps she was a special type of human? Regardless he didnt want to give away his identity, so he completely surpressed his reaitsu to the point when he had seemingly none. Now if he had surpressed it just seem like a regular shinigami, he could mantain that for days, perhaps weeks, however to make his mass of reaitsu nothing, strained him and now he had to release it.

He sat down and began mediating as he regulated his spiritual pressure. There was a pulse as there was a release of a massive spiritual pressure. Suddenly in Karakura town and where Tenrai was, the skies grew dark. Thunder clouds formed instantly and a storm appeared. Tenrai took deep breaths and the grow instantly grew storm. Lightning began striking down, particularly in the area where Tenrai was medaiting. None actually touched him, however some got close. Static appeared as well in the area around Tenrai and suddenly he opened his eyes. He could sense someone was coming. If it were a foe, he knew he could deal with it easily, however if it werent, whoever it was could be in great danger.

Two in the morning couldn't come quicker. As the clock counted down the minutes, Moka began to escort drunken guests out of the bar. It was closing time at long last. Opening night was a complete success. At arounmd two-thirty, her last employee left for home, leaving Moka to count the tills and take care of the bookwork before she could head out. It's been a long night and she couldn't wait to get home. While she was tallying the evening's profits, her mind seemed to travel back to Tenrai. He slipped out so suddenly without saying goodbye or even leaving a tip. She sighed to herself and locked the money from the night in a large safe beneath her desk, then left her office. She locked down everything and turned out the lights before leaving the bar. She locked the front door and began the tiresome walk back to her appartment when someting stopped her dead in the center of the sidewalk.

A chill ran down the young woman's spine. She knew that feeling. It was a soul reaper's spiritual pressure. Her attention turned to the sky where a large consentration of thunderclouds hung over a certain area. That's where the spiritual pressure is coming from... She took a deep breath and utilized a bit of the spiritual pressure she was feeling, absorbing it's reishi before using her hirenkyaku to travel towards the direction of the pressure she was sensing. As she got closer, she could sense a familiar presence. She began to walk down a sidewalk, still following the leak of spiritual pressure until she came across a familiar face. T-Tenrai..? She took a few more steps closer before small sparks of electricity danced across her body. She winced slightly, but continued forward out of curiosity. If it was Tenrai, he wouldn't hurt her. She held that trust, certain that it was a good idea to approach him.

Tenrai sensed the presense get closer. It didnt sense like either a shinigami or hollow...or any variation. It felt like a human, and a familar one at that. When someone finally reveiled themselves, Tenrai saw it was Moka. His eyes widened a bit as she tried to come closer. He immediately stood up, revealing his shinigami wardrobe and captain haori. He was the captain of the 2nd Division, Tenrai Raiden. He looked at her and yelled as loud as he could, "It's not safe being this close to me, get away", he said. As he yelled, the thunder roared louder and the lightning came crashind down for frequently.

Moka ignored Tenrai's warnings when she noticed his attire. She knew that look. Her Father and Grandfather told her about the beings who dressed in the black shihakusho. The Death Gods. The Shinigami. As she walked closer, she began to draw in more and more of the reishi that the man was producing. It was a simple task for a Quincy at her level. She noticed the storm starting to calm as she drew in more and more of his reishi, but she knew it would have to be released eventually. She could hold it for now, saving it for an important cause. She didn't know if she'd have to defend herself yet. She learned that Soul Reapers were responsible for the destruction of her race. Now she was the last Quincy, at least to her knowledge, she was. She looked at Tenrai as she continued to walk closer, his storm no longer a threat to her. Too dangerous? Howso? I guess, since I know what you are...you should know what I am...don't you agree, Tenrai? Her seafoam green orbs seemed to give off an elegant glow with the lightning. She smiled, still unafraid of him despite what she knew he was.

While it is true that the storm was generated by Tenrai's reaitsu, the storm was natural. Quincy or not, Moka was still human and this wasnt reaitsu based lightning, it was real. It continued to come crashing down destroying the setting around them. Suddenly a bolt of lightning came striking down ontop of Moka. Tenrai disappeared, appearing above Moka, his fingers lifted towards the sky. He absorbed the lightning and fired it through his other hand back into the sky. The area soon calmed down as Tenrai's reaitsu regulated. He walked closer to his raising an eyebrow. What was she...he thought about it and an answer hit him...a Quincy? "Indeed Moka-chan...it was interesting because from the beginning I could feel that you were, different.", he said.

Moka's eyes widened in surprise when absorbing his reishi didn't work like she thought. She was even more surprised when he saved her from a bolt of lightning. She was lightly trembling in the man's arms, her mind trying to process everything. You saved me..? Why..? I thought Soul Reapers only wanted the destruction of us Quincies? Though your race had nearly succeeded....I fear that I may be the last of a dying breed... She sighed a bit and took a step back from Tenrai, a rather perplexed expression on her face. Maybe all shinigami didn't seek the destruction of the Quincy race. She sighed to herself, relaxing her body as her stored reishi that she had absorbed released itself, taking the form of six, bright blue wings stretching out from her back. They stayed for a moment before vanishing in a glistening cloud of spirit particles. Moka simply looked at Tenrai, unsure of what to think at the present moment. Now that he knows what she is, maybe he'd try to kill her.

Tenrai noticed that Moka was trembling a little. He walked even closer and hugged her. "Dont worry...I would not hurt you and as long as I'm by your side, this storm cant touch you either", he said to comfort her. Then he heard why did he save her and heard her sad story of possibly being one of the last Quincies. She then backed away from him. He merely gave her a warm smile and looked up at the sky. The thunder and lightning was gone now and it just became a slight drizzle. "It is true that Shinigami and Quincies havent exactly been friends...however I feel like as a Shinigami I have a different obgligation...I am suppose to protect the Seireitei and balance in the Soul Society...as well as the mortal world and humans. And Quincies are humans so theyll be under my protection", he said.

Moka looked up at Tenrai as he spoke. She was surprised to find a shinigami that didn't want her dead. Afterall, she stood on the line of extinction, however she was grateful that he would rather protect her than kill her. That statement made her feel a bit safer in the world. She turned her attention to the sky and watched the grisly storm continue before rain began to fall around them. Moka closed her eyes and simply let the rain soothe her rattled nerves. She then realized that she was wearing a rather thin white blouse. She blushed slightly and quickly crossed her arms over her chest. You can make the rain stop, right..? Would you kindly do so...? I'm wearing white after all...and I know that even shinigami know what water does to white clothing... She found herself unable to make eye contact with the man. She kept her arms crossed tightly over her chest. She didn't want him to see more of her than he should.

Tenrai just looked at Moka, he could feel that she wasnt as uncomfortable as before and he smiled...He then noticed that her white clothing was becoming slightly transparent. He blushed and turned away and then listened to her question if he could make it stop. He looked up and sighed. "Unforunately, although I can start the storms, once the thunder and lightning is gone, its fully natural and out of my control...the rain will eventually disappear on its own.", he said with a slight studder in her voice as he thought that because of the rain, that Moka behind him was pretty much exposed.

Moka softly sighed and kept her arms crossed over her chest for cover while she waited out the rain. She began to shiver slightly. It was getting a bit chilly out. She glanced at Tenrai, then smiled. Let's go back to My Blue Heaven. At least it's warmer there. Besides, I have an extra shirt in my office. we can wait out the rain in the bar and maybe just relax and have a couple drinks in the process. What do you say? She kept her gaze on Tenrai, curious if he'd actually agree to the offer or not. She just wanted to get out of the rain before she became a little over exposed.

"A-alright, lets go. Lead the way", Tenrai said as she slowly turned around so he could follow Moka. He was very careful as he did this because he didnt want to look like a pervert, however he did think Moka was an attractive girl. Regardless for her sake they had to hurry to get out of the weather, so he just followed her back to her Blue Heaven.

Moka glanced back at Tenrai before initiating her hirenkyaku again. It was so much faster than walking at a normal pace. Using this technique, she found herself back at the doors of her bar within seconds. She glanced behind her to see if Tenrai was far behind her or not. She knew shinigami had their own way of speedy tyravel, and figured that Tenrai would use it to catch up. She quickly unlocked the door and hurried inside. She ran to her office and opened the door. She snagged the extra shirt, another button down blouse much like the one she was wearing, then quickly changed before Tenrai made it inside. Once she changed, she walked back out into the main area and sat at the bar, waiting for Tenrai.

Tenrai waited for Moka to start...as Captain of the 2nd Division he was an extremely fast shinigami, perhaps one of the fastest, and with his photographic memory he could make it back to the bar in a few seconds. When Moka headed off he followed her appearing at the bar a few seconds after her. He waited a bit outside so she could change before he eventually walked in. He raised an eyebrow as she noticed she changed already. "Wow that was fast...so what should we do now?", he asked.

Moka smiled at his comment, then reached over the bar, grabbing a couple tumblers and a bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey. She patted the stool to her left and smiled. Come sit and have a couple drinks with me. We can relax here until the rain passes. And you might as well get to know me since you already know what I am. I've never met a Shinigami before, so I'm rather intrigued. I'm sure you have questions too. She poured a shot of whiskey in each glass, then waited for him to sit down.

Tenrai walked up to the stool and sat down next to Moka. "Sounds interesting...alright. Well ask whatever you like", he said. Tenrai then picked up the shot of Whiskey and looked at it rathered interested. Now that she knew he was a shinigami, it made sense to why he didnt know what most of these drinks were. On top of that he wasnt really much of a drinker. He drank the shot quickly and then sighed and looked at her with a smile, showing her he did it.

Moka smiled and downed her shot, then set the glass aside. She chuckled to herself when Tenrai took his shot. It was obvious that he wasn't used to her kind of drinks. Moka leaned back against the counter, crossing her rightleg over the left. So...what exactly brings a shinigami to the human world. After all...my job as a Quincy is to protect this place from hollows. I was told that the Soul Reapers didn't like that about us...and that the feud started over who had rights to protect the World of the Living. What is your purpose here? She looked up at the man, a hint of sadness in her eyes. She heard many things about the tragic history of her race, yet she didn't know what to believe. She didn't see any being as evil. She simply saw them as blinded by lies told by their leaders. Evil isn't born, it's made.

"Well I kinda broke the rules being here since I kind of came without a purpose. I was bored in the Soul Society and decided to go out of the norm and come here to relax. So to be completely honest I have no real purpose for being here...I just stayed because when I came here something interesting caught my attention and I decided to stay", he said, making a slight reference to Moka towards the end. "I'm kind of an oddball shinigami since I dont hold anything against the Quinicies and I see them as beings that are also under our protection...Perhaps one day the rest of the Gotei 13 will see it the same way I do", he then said.

Moka smiled a bit at his words. She sat up a little and stretched slightly before speaking again. I doubt the rest of the Seireitei knows I exist...and I'd rather keep it that way. As long as they continue to think the Quincies are extinct, the longer I may stay alive. Promise you won't tell the soul society about me...at least...don't tell them what I really am. I enjoy living. She spoke the last part in a bit of a joking manner, though she was being serious. If they Seireitei knew she was a livink Quincy, her head would have a price on it in a heartbeat. She sighed softly and shuddered at the thought of having to run and avoid soul reapers for the rest of her life. Definately unpleasant.

"Im not sure if they know you exist or not either...however I think they have other problems to focus their attention on", Tenrai said. He began thinking about most of the higher ranked shinigami officiers just disappearing without explination. It was because of these disappearances that he was nominated to be captain. He doubted that the Seireitei would care about a Quincy girl when there were other issues...However the Seireitei was known for being irrational at times so there was no real way to be sure. Tenrai looked at Moka and then smiled softly, "I promise I wont let them know of your existance...and I also promise that as long as I'm alive, you wont have to run...you'll always be safe", he said, moving his seat a little closer to hers.

Moka let out a sigh of relief and smiled up at Tenrai. Are you saying that you will protect me from your own kind if they come after me? Isn't that...you know...treason? She looked at him with a curious expression on her face as he moved closer. She didn't want him to put himself in danger over her. She had some means to defend herself, just not against some of the higher ranking shinigami. She had a feeling that Tenrai was among the high ranking officers, or else he wouldn't be so willing to aide her if the worst did happen. She sighed and leaned back against the bar, so many thoughts now swimming inside that ever racing mind of hers.

Tenrai sighed and then nodded. "Yes, it would be considered treason if I fought against my fellow officiers to keep you safe. However they have no reason to attack you..it isnt like you mean any harm to us. What happened in the past needs to stay in the past. If you truely are one of the last Quincy, then you have the power to decide wheather we should be friendly or hostile to each other. And whichever you choose will determine how the other side with react. And if I need to represent the shinigami's behalf I shall...all depending on your decision", he said.

Moka glanced back at Tenrai and softly sighed. I want no hostilities between our races..I don't believe in senseless fighting over ancient history. I just want peace. Maybe you can aide me in this endeavor since you've met me and know that I mean no harm towards anyone. My major goal is to find peace with all races...Shinigami...Vaizards...even Arrancar. Though I doubt they'll cooperate...I'm just sick of violence over such silly reasons...I know my goal makes me seem like nothing more than a dreamer. Maybe even a little naive....but I simply see it as a brighter future for all beings, living and dead. She turned her gaze to the floor, her hands now fidgiting with a few strands of her long magenta colored hair. She didn't know how he'd see her after hearing her ideals. Maybe he'd think she was crazy like her father and sisters did. Despite the awful things that Shinigami have done to her ancestors, she just couldn't bring herself to hate them, or anyone for that matter.

Tenrai placed his hand on the girls lap and looked at her a smiled to give her some confidence in her dream. "Thats a great goal...However fulfilling it will be difficult. I can see Shinigami and Quincy eventually getting along..however Vizards and Arrancar might be hard since its almost impossible for us to get along with Hollows, which exist in both of those beings. However I thing that if we work hard, we might be able to find some common ground between the races and eventually find peace", he said, almost a sense of pride in his voice.

Moka nodded in agreement to his statement. She knew it would be hard to create a bond with a hollow, but she was willing to try. Moka never saw hollows as evil. To her, they are simply troubled souls who let their past tragedies eat away at their souls. She let out another soft sigh, then realized that Tenrai's hand had found itself quite comfortable on her lap. She glanced up at him and smiled, finding nothing wrong with the gesture. A simple act of comfort in her mind. The Vaizards may be easier to talk with since they are also half soul reaper. The Arrancar may be my biggest task...but I have faith in myself. Maybe I can find that one arrancar that isn't like the others. One who sees the war between the races as I do. Who knows...? She felt her heart racing with excitement. She had such high hopes and a strong, ambitious nature that would aide in her success, but the other half would have to hold the same ideals to make it work. From the way things looked right now, Tenrai could be her chance to get through to the soul reapers.

"What I suggest we do first is make sure we can establish a bond between the Quincy and Shinigami. Althought bringing together any of the races will be hard, I feel as if Shinigami and Quincies will be the easiest one to deal with first. However I also suggest we wait awhile before putting this plan into motion because the Seireitei has been quite hostile lately and they might be harsh with anything new that comes up...So perhaps we should just plan everything out first for awhile before making any actions at all", he said. He then noticed his hand was still on her lap and he blushed slightly and moved it. He then thought how would he be able to convince the Seireitei to not want to hunt this girl...this was going to be a hard task indeed...and if he brought it up in the wrong way..he could be executed for it.
