Personality:
Kenpachi has a wild and aggressive. Kenpachi lives for battle (evidenced by his method of attaining his rank) and enjoys a good fight more than anything. He even weakens himself in an effort to make any fight last longer. He also claims that injury and death are nothing but the price one pays for a good fight. Despite his group being the most bloodthirsty of the Gotei 13, they have their own code of ethics, different from the set rules of Soul Society, fitting with Kenpachi's portrayal as a free spirit. On various occasions, he is seen putting fun before work. Despite his violent tendencies Kenpachi will usually give up on a fight if his opponent is too injured to fight back, claiming that the fight is no longer fun. However, he will unhesitatingly kill his opponent if they refuse to end their fight on his terms as seen during his battles with Tōsen and Nnoitora. He is depicted as having a very poor sense of direction, and is often depicted in omake stories asking his lieutenant Yachiru for directions to a particular place (who then randomly points in a direction even though she herself has a terrible sense of direction).

Quirks: A eye-patch that absorbs his reiatsu, and the bells he wears in his hair. These are worn because he likes to make fights interesting, and so mostly any opponent can have a fair fight against him.

History:
Prior to entering the Soul Reaper ranks, Zaraki resided in District 80, the most lawless district surrounding Soul Society. He became very proficient with swordsmanship, or at least fighting, while he was there, and eventually adopted the district's name, "Zaraki", as his surname. After leaving the district he found a small girl who, despite her young age, did not fear his sword. Since she had no name, he named her Yachiru (やちる) in remembrance of the only person he ever admired. At the same time he also took on a name for himself: Kenpachi, the title bestowed upon the strongest swordsman, the one who has killed the most, and a tradition amongst captains of the 11th Division.[1] Yachiru became inseparable from Zaraki from that point further, following him wherever he went, usually clinging to his back.
After some time had passed, Zaraki found his way into Soul Society and killed the previous captain of the 11th Division, thus gaining his seat in the Gotei 13. As a new captain, Zaraki was begrudgingly forced to learn Kendo, something he hated because it personified his sword, though he did agree on one point: a blade swung with both arms is more powerful than with one arm. As such he makes it a point to avoid using it in battle in order to prolong the experience of fighting as long as possible.

Disappearance: -
He has no clue on what happened during the disappearance and has no such memory. He simply suddenly ended up in a random district in Soul society. When he noticed were he was, he headed for the captain commander to check in, but his poor sense of direction made his loose his way, and caused him to run all over Soul society before finally making it back to the 11th division.

Present -
When he returned to the 11th, he found out disturbing information about HIS division. It seemed he was gone longer then he thought, and he was replaced as captain. This pissed him off, and caused him to go on a small rampage through the 11th division. Yet, the captain commander quickly addressed the situation. On top of being replaced, Yachiru decided to leave her post as his Vice Captain. Presently he is still waiting to be resigned, but he isn't going to take just any old seated position. What was this world coming to? what happened during his disappearance? Zaraki doesn't want to put much thought into it.

Zaraki's sword's hilt looks like a cross between a multi-sided diamond and a puffed up shirt sleeve. The blade is very knotched because of the numerous battles he's been in, representing Zaraki's love of battle. Unlike most Captains and Soul Reapers, Kenpachi's Zanpakuto does not have a name. As such, his Zanpakutō is constantly in it's released state (not unlike Ichigo's Zangetsu) and neither can Zaraki use a bankai. Kenpachi has only asked his Zanpakuto for its name once, right after his close defeat by Ichigo, but receives no answer. Although Zaraki's sword doesn't seem to have any particular abilities, his over-flowing spirit energy can make his swings more powerful, causing huge explosions sometimes.

Counter Reiatsu is essentially the ultimate passive defense for the shinigami who throws themselves into battle. More often than not, its real name is forgotten and a simple description is used, but the true name of the ability is 'Bulwark.' By using a tremendous amount of reiatsu, the user can essentially increase the strength of their skin, much akin to an Arrancar's Hierro, but Bulwark is regarded much more highly than Hierro. Most of the reputation of the ability is from intimidated shinigami fleeing from their superior who would essentially appear invulnerable to basic strikes. A normal strike from a zanpaktou will not likely break Bulwark's barrier, but it has been known to happen. While it is a superb defense for every type of combat, Counter Reiatsu sustains a constant draw on the shinigami's reiatsu, so over time it will become difficult to fight.


~Rp Sample~
'What a boring day today is' Zaraki thought as he laid on his side in a dark room. His elbow was on the ground, and his hand propped up against his cheek. Quietly he laid on his side starring at the door. As he laid in one place, his expression had a very displeased frown for he had nothing he wanted to do. The only thing that could cure his increasing boredom was somebody strong would have to show up. Letting out a light sigh, Zaraki continued to wait for something interesting to happen.

He had no idea where Yachiru was, which he wasn't to pleased about. He always hated it when Yachiru disappeared to do god knows what. Zaraki closed his eyes, and rolled over changing the direction he was looking, and what elbow was firmly planted on the floor. Suddenly, some loud bangs could be heard from out side causing Zaraki to reopen his eyes and prop his head to see whats going on. As he looked out the window, a large cloud of smoke could be seen in the distance. Yet, with Zaraki's sense of direction, he had no clue on where it was located. A grin appeared on his face, and he turned and started walking towards the door.

Quickly he opened the door to step outside, and as he did so, a certain someone was looking up at him. It was Yachiru who was standing in front of him. His eyebrow perked up, and he looked down at her. "Where have you been?" Zaraki said as he turned and started walking off in some random direction. "Well since your here, help me locate where those loud noises are coming from..." Zaraki said to Yachiru who quickly jumped onto his should giggling. She then pointed in some random direction. Zaraki smirked before running off in that direction looking to have some fun for the day.
