Kenshirou vs. Kenpachi

Kenshirou made his way to the training grounds in Sereitei to fulfil his morning work-out he scheduled for in the previous week. He made his way to the centre of the field to begin his training by flash stepping around the field randomly. This was in order to improve his agile and stamina. Before long Kenshirou started feeling a spiritual pressure amongst him, as if they were heavy weights just thrown onto his shoulders. He calmly turned to face the entrance to find a familiar face. It was Zaraki Kenpachi. Captain, or in this case ex-Captain, of squad eleven, Kenshirou's previous squad a while back. He wondered if Kenpachi had remembered him scaling the ranks before the disappearance.

Seeing Kenpachi at the training grounds was a pretty obvious sign that he had wanted to spar, but Kenshirou waited for Kenpachi otherwise. He did not want to start something unnecessarily. Randomly attacking Kenpachi wasn't the smartest move anyone could make. To anyone watching, it appeared that two men were about to face off. One younger than the other, with two zanpakuto and a knife. The older was fierce man with scars, a battle veteran. Both had the same feature of an eyepatch. Like looking at a man's life of before and after.

Kenpachi was entirely way to bored on this fine day. He had nothing to do, and he wasn't permitted to hollow hunt because of him being rankless at the moment. Quietly Kenpachi walked throught the busy streets of Soul society. The shinigami were attending their posts, and the other soul's that were considered civilians were doing their everyday thing to ensure survival. Kenpachi's eyes gazed across the crowd, looking for Yachiru, or somebody familiar until he ended up at the training grounds.

Stopping at the entrance, Kenpachi's attention was caught by somebody that was flash stepping through the large open field. The entire training ground was covered by a berrier which ensured that a spar or fight doesn't get out of hand. The fellow looked interesting, and he was also wearing an eye-patch. It was amusing to see somebody else with an eye-patch, but Kenpachi's eye-patch was important to him. It constantly eat at his enormous, and overflowing Reiatsu to make things easier.

Kenpachi started to slowly walk towards the man who was training, in which he finally noticed kenpachi. "You know, training by yourself is like fighting a child.... You gain nothing!" Zaraki said with a grin. "How about you give me something to do, and attempt to amuse me!" Zaraki said Cockily. Kenpachi had his old Haori on which signafied the captain of the 11th division. Just cause their was a new captain for the squad would not make Zaraki stop wearing it. In fact, Zaraki sees himself as the rightful captain of that division, and nobody can tell him otherwise.

Tamashi silently wound his way through the soul society, making his way to the training grounds for a little practice. He didn't like the idea of going soft, and was always working on his body, keeping it finely tuned, so that he never needed to worry about going soft. He was not far off when he felt two very strong spiritual pressures already ahead of him in the training grounds. He slowed his speed and hid himself, though he doubted he would have been sensed over the others.

Using his considerable stealth training he snuck around the two and approached from behind, keeping his eyes on the two men who were staring each other down apparently. He slowly walked out of his concealed location and cautiously approached the two, making no hostile movements. He said nothing nor moved, only stood off to the side looking from one male to the other, wondering what he had just managed to get himself in the middle of.

He shut his eyes and sighed, breaking out into a grin, trying his best to defuse a potentially hostile situation, before realizing that he could use this to aid in his own goals of training. He casually laid a hand on his Zan and leaned his head backwards, still not truly moving.

Kenshirou gazed at Kenpachi who gazed back at him. Kenshirou knew about Kenpachi's eye-patch and how it had the power to refrain a large amount of chakra. Kenshirou's eye-patch on the other hand just restricted his reflexes as an eye-patch would normally do, it was a training method. As Kenpachi muttered words, Kenshirou noticed another spiritual pressure within the area. He crouched down slightly in a battle stance and held his two zanpakuto, still sheathed. "You might as well come out. No point in hiding." Kenshirou said calmly to the odd presence nearby.

His eyes remained fixed on Kenpachi, not too distant from him. As soon as this shinigami revealed himself there would be no doubt that Kenpachi would crave a fight even more. Truly a bloodthirsty foe. "Everyone has their own way of training, Kenpachi. Even you must have started somewhere. Why not relive these moments?" Kenshirou replied to Kenpachi rhetorically. Surely he would also notice the other shinigami's presence.

Zaraki grinned as a another small spiritual presence came into the protected area. "I guess I will be able to get my warm up today!" Zaraki said. Zaraki wasn't surprised that he knew him, but he pondered on who this guy was. Slowly Kenpachi removed his zanpakutou from it's sheath and pointed it at Kenshijou.

"To make it more interesting, I want to both to work as a team to fight me!" Zaraki said pausing to look at the new comer. "It ensures me that I'll get a good warm up!" Zaraki said a small grin appearing on his face. Looking back at Kenshijou, Zaraki kept the same cocky smirk on his face.

"Come at me like your life depends on it!"

Tamashi stood, his right eye covered by his right hand, a small smirk on his face. As he was challenged along with Kenshirou he scowled, before breaking out into an enthusiastic grin. He flicked his Zan part way from it's sheath with his left thumb before quickly drawing it fully. He jumped away from Kenpachi, and cracked his neck.

"This day's turning out alright after all." He commented, blade held loosely at his side. He bounced up and down, never the one to make the first move. He waited for one of the others to do so. He looked over his new battle partner, and wondered who he was, and what he could do. He quickly returned his attention to Kenpachi however so as to not be surprised by any attack.

Kenshirou chuckled as he noticed the newcomer on the field covering his eye to seem as if it was some sort of gimmick having an eye covered. Kenshirou then withdrew both of his zanpakuto and nodded towards the unknown shinigami as they were paired up. "Uesugi, Kenshirou, squad six Vice-Captain. I guess we'll be teaming up today." Keshirou smiled slightly. He watched as Kenpachi let out a roar with his zanpakuto withdrawn and his new team mate warming up. The sun shone and the weather was fair. Kenshirou ran through a couple of strategies through his head quickly before making a move. He smiled once he had finished and looked at his new comrade in a reasurring way.

Kenshirou would make the first move. He flash stepped in front of Kenpachi looking him dead in the eye before striking. He let out two powerful swings of his swords one after the other to one side of Kenpachi. Kenpachi was a man of brute force so it was necessary to give great effort against a foe such as him. They needed a way to find out how to work with each other in this situation, the newcomer and himself, but for now it was a match of strength.

The trio stood in the middle of the training field. Zaraki withdrew his sword from the direction of Kenshijou. Kenpachi lightly tapped the dull end of his blade against his left shoulder wondering who will make the first move. His head was slightly tipped back and tilted sending a intimidation stare. His old eleventh division haori on his back slightly waving as the tense silence took it's roll.

Then finally, the first to move was Kenshijou. The man flashed stepped in front of Kenpachi and attack with two strikes. Kenpachi smirked, and quickly moved his blade in front of Kenshijou's first strike. The blade connected making a sparks come off them. Then as Kenshijou was on the second strike, Kenpachi moved his zanpakutou slight over blocking the second strike. As soon as Kenshijou's second strike was blocked Kenpachi used his right hand to try and grab Kenshijou's face attempting to pull him in and slam his head into the ground.

As his new found ally introduced himself Tamashi cast him a quick glance before replying. "Tamashi Karitori, second division third seat." As his new ally flash stepped into attack Tamashi smirked, an idea popping into his head. As Kenpachi deflected each strike with apparent ease Tamashi flash stepped behind him and swung at his left hip, somersaulted to the right, and slashed diagonally at hi neck in the process.

He landed and quickly jumped back, not wanting to be caught by Kenpachi. He waited to see how Kenshirou was doing, still keeping an eye on Kenpachi for any possible sneak attack.

Kenshirou acknowledged Tamashi before moving to attack. The plan in Kenshirou's head played over and over again like a broken record. Thinking of all the possible outcomes and trying to come up with strategies to fill in the loopholes it contained. As Kenshirou arrived in front of Kenpachi and striked, Kenpachi easily blocked the attacks he had executed and tried to grab him, but Kenhsirou just smiled. He flash stepped once again knowing that Tamashi would not let this oppurtunity go to waste by appearing behind Kenpachi and giving attacks of his own quite elegantly.

Kenshirou pondered from not too far away. He looked at Kenpachi and seen aggression in his eye and and body posture. He had heard rumours of the ex-captains abilities, how he can withstand countless blows and still reign supreme over his opponents. Kenshirou had been apart of squad eleven for a while before given the opportunity of the position of squad six vice-captain, but had never actually seen Kenpachi in action. He wished that these rumours were true. After all, he was here to test his abilities.

As Zaraki's hand came in, Kenshirou used used a shunpo to get away. Zaraki frowned before something, better yet, Someone special appeared behind him. "Hm!" Zaraki turned bringing his sword in front of his chest and blocking the strike with much ease. Yet, too be expected by third seats. Just as the mans strike connected with Zaraki's blade, he shunpo'd to his side and attempted another strike. Zaraki frowned, and opened the palm of his hand and catching the blade with his bare hand.

Zaraki caught the blade because he wanted to see if the could even cut him. The strike was weak, and couldn't get passed his counter Reiatsu. "I said come at me like your life depends on it!" Zaraki said as a massive burst of reiatsu emitted from his body. Pulling the blade in his hand forward, Kenpachi sent a hard, weak vertical slash at the third seat of the 2nd Division. Weather the slash was a success, Zaraki would stop there. Quickly, Kenpachi's foot slide slightly against the ground and he was sent in a dash in Kenshirou's direction. That dreadful grin still plaster across his face as he came at Kenshirou.

When He got with in range, Zaraki lifted his Blade high above his geat with his single arm. His other hand reached out attempting to grab him if he tried to use Shunpo. With a strong vertical slash, Kenpachi attempted to cut into Kenshirou's shoulder.

As Tamashi had expected his first strike had been easily deflected. Though against his predictions his second attack was caught while he was still mid flip, and he felt his wrist twist as he continued, a slight crack being heard, as well as the sound of Kenpachi's blade connecting to the ground behind him, his flip having saved him the effort of dodging.

Tamashi stood up and scowled as Kenpachi dashed at Kenshirou. He had been told to come at the man as if his life depended on it. That meant he should go full out. Tamashi smirked slightly, as he shook his head. "Reveal yourself, Masatsu."

With that line uttered Tamashi's blade grew to be six feet in length and double edged, a great sword, and he leaned it gently against his shoulder, before Shunpoing at Kenpachi and appearing slightly above him, slashing the blade directly down at his head, his smirk still in place.

Kenshirou watched as Tamashi's attack was foiled. Kenpachi had deflected the third seats attack and caught the blade with his bare hand, not even cutting him. Indeed this man was not merely a shinigami, he was a captain for a reason. From a distance, Kenshirou saw that Tamashi had dodged a powerful vertical attack from the ex-captain after he emitted a powerful burst of reiatsu. The dust particles on the ground blew in all directions away from him. A monstrous cry had escaped from Kenpachi's mouth, "I said come at me like your life depends on it!" This man was not just training, he was counting this as a proper match.

Suddenly, Kenpachi dashed towards Kenshirou, which, his eye had fixed on Kenpachi, only seeing an unfocused background as Tamashi summoned his shikai. More spirtual energy was emmitted as a great sword around six feet appeared, maybe that was enough to cut kenpachi if enough reiatsu is channeled through it? It's power intrigued him as he wondered what power it contained. Kenshirou then noticed that Tamashi had appeared above Kenpachi, which made him smirk. He stood his ground as he seen Kenpachi with an outstretched arm and sent out a great burst of reiatsu swinging both of his own swords, one for Kenpachi's hand and the other for the katana in Kenpachi's other hand. Kenshirou was leaving this move up to Tamashi while Kenshirou drew out the ex-captain on a head on attack.

Kenpachi's grin stayed plaster on his face when he felt the reiatsu increasing in power from both his opponents. Maybe they would be such boring panzies that just happened to have a really bad day. When Kenpachi got within five feet of the Kenshirou, he pulled his extended arm back and swung his sword downward with massive force. Kenshirou was quick to try and counter Kenpachi's swing, but as the blades connected a Crater below Kenshirou was created.

Reeling his sword above his head, Kenpachi got a lucky moment. Tamashi's blade connected with zaraki's blade. Zaraki could feel the pressure of the swing, but Kenpachi was unfazed but the pressure against his sword. His eye moved up towards Tamashi, but twitched back towards Kenshirou. With a heavy push kick to Kenshirou's gut, Kenpachi attempted to send him flying off like he just got hit by a semi at a speed of 80mph.

Kenpachi would then turn around and swing his sword at Tamashi attempting to slash across his chest. But weather the swing missed, Kenpachi would reel his arm holding the sword back and swing his sword againt in a different slash angle. "That's better, Don't soften up now" Kenpachi would say tauntingly.

Tamashi focused on Kenpachi, completely ignoring what happened to Kenshirou. He had honestly not expected to be blocked, though he used the block to flip over Kenpachi, avoiding both strike simultaneously. He smirked as he flipped backwards, his sword extending, snaking outwards at fifty miles per hour, curling around Kenpachi, and wrapping around him several times.

Tamashi looked over at Kenshirou, and smirked, tightening the blade around Kenpachi, and flipping it over his head, Kenpachi with it, as he was caught in the center. He quickly loosened his hold, and let it unwind from Kenpachi, curling extremely loosely around Tamashi.

Kenshirou watched as the bloodthirsty shinigami approached him with a demonic smile. The strong impact of their swords created a small crater below Kenshirou causing him to loose balance and lower to one knee on the ground. He smirked at this result as it was what he had expected from a man with god-like strength. As Tamashi had connected with Kenpachi's Zanpakuto, Kenshirou flash stepped back a few feet leaving Kenpachi's kick rather useless as he couldn't reach him. He watched as Kenpachi concentrated back on Tamashi, sending his sword in to attack. Quite tenacious eh?

As Tamashi used his Zanpakuto's abilities Kenshirou thought that it may be his time to activate his shikai also. Making sure he was out of reach Kenshirou held both his katana tightly and summoned his shikai. "Jibun de hyōji! Hikari to Kage!" (Show yourself! Light and Shadow!) He shouted, leaving the others aware. The 1st katana (light) is a beautiful white coloured katana with black streaks of cloth around the hilt of the sword and a piece of white cloth that dangles from the handle. The 2nd sword (shadow) is a black coloured katana with white streaks of cloth along the hilt with a black piece of cloth the dangles from the handle of the sword.

He looked at Tamashi who had smirked at him as he used his shikai abilities. It was time to test Kenpachi to see if he truly earned that title. He lowered the white katana and raised the dark one and followed with a small announcement. "Kage Shimetsuke (Shadow stranglehold)" Kenshirou smirked. Shadows from the walls and surrounding areas which created shadows began to race to Kenpachi. If an part of a shadow had reached him then he would be binded allowing Tamashi and himself to freely strile Kenpachi.
