| If it had not been for her sharp eyesight Lightning may have missed the tiny writing in the corner of the paperwork she was given. At first it was just another that went missing during the phenomenon, that was until the date on the page was read. This paperwork had been filed before the phenomenon, this was a shinigami that had not returned from a mission in the human world. Normally the cause for such a thing was their death on said mission, but you could never know for certain. After all look at what had happened not too long ago with Byakuya's sister Rukia. Certain that nothing like that would be the cause for this mission Lightning called for her lieutenant Kenshirou. Yes, she could easily deal with this mission alone however it would do him good to go. She would brief him on the mission when he arrived, she had no intention of delaying the start of the mission. She was perhaps as eager to get going on something other than paperwork as her lieutenant would be. Her mind began to wander to thoughts of the human world as she waited for Kenshirou, it had been so long since she had been there. What would have changed? The human civilisation was a rapidly growing and changing one, she was certain she would be in for some surprises.
((OOC: this is the briefing part and then the topic will move to karakura ^^)

| Kenshirou awoke in his quarters. He fell asleep while doing paperwork at his desk, yet again. As he lifted his head a piece of paper was stuck to his forehead, covering his eyes and bandanna. He removed it quickly and looked at the time. 'I'm late?!' Kenshirou thought to himself. He rushed to get his Zanpakuto and a quick wash in order to be presentable for his Captain, Lightning. He rushed down the chambers and finally reached his Captain's room. He caught his breath and straightened himself up before he entered the room. The door was opened and Kenshirou entered the room there to find his Captain waiting for him.
"You wanted to see me, Taicho?" Kenshirou asked. He was hoping for a nice holiday or something along the lines of that. But, knowing his Captain, it was more work surely. Paperwork was just a hassle nowadays for Kenshirou. He rarely got to see any of the sights on his own accord for quite sometime now and was missing the days were he just lay amongst the rooftops of the many buildings in Sereitei. On the other hand, if this was another thing at hand, what could the Captain need Kenshirou for?

| Kenshirou seemed slightly flustered as he entered Lightning's office, judging by his arrival time she figured it must have been due to running late. Remaining seated behind her now clutter free desk Lightning motioned for Kenshirou to take a seat also before rather quickly starting conversation. "A mission which would involve visiting the Human world has come to find it's way to my desk. I thought that you could use a break from the paperwork and a chance to take on a mission. Of course i would be accompanying you, i have no intention of remaining to do said duties either. It is nothing too obscure, a shinigami has failed to return from an assignment in Karakura Town and it is our duty as those of the 6th division to chase this officer down. Most likely they were killed in battle, but we can not take any chances....Traitors are unforgiveable."
Lightning's words were stern but deep down inside she had inner conflict about that very statement. Were they truly unforgiveable? She had lived her life believing that, never doubting the rightness of her orders. But what of Urahara? that man that gave her this chance at life was he too also one of these that could not be forgiven? Dismissing her inner thoughts quickly Lightning's eyes locked onto Kenshirou's own as she awaited his reply, his decision.

| When Kenshirou entered the room he was offered a seat by his Captain which he then accepted. She immediately made conversation about the task that was in store for both Kenshirou and his Captain. A mission to go to the human world and find out the status of a shinigami and settle any problems which may occur involving said shinigami. Karakura town was their destination, the birth place of one Ichigo Kurosaki and his companions. Kisuke Urahara also lived there, a shinigami who had been exiled which Kenshirou heard so much about.
Kenshirou listened to what Lightning had to say and immediately responded. "Yes, Taicho. We should make haste." Kenshirou said as he thought of the paperwork and how this was his chance to avoid it for a while but why would there be a traitor? Kenshirou for a moment and then asked his Captain another question. "Did this particular shinigami avoid the cause of the disappearances of the other squad officers?" Kenshirou looked Lightning back in the eye in hopes that maybe this shinigami might know what happened to the others.

| ((OOC: i want to make sure you don't think that Lightning has a crush on Urahara xD he was the reason she joined the soul academy is all. He saved her from a life of slums basically.))
"I doubt so, although they were supposed to return before the phenonemon. Which leaves the chance they have not done so due to knowledge of the event. Or more likely death" Lightning had been on many of these missions and at least 90% of them ended in the discovery of a corpse or the likes. Although there were the few that thought they were above the law, those that thought they could flee and remain undetected. Idiocracy, that was all there was to describe such actions. Noone was above the law, noone at all. Once again a pang of conflict wracked her as she thought those words, there was always that one man that made her doubt....made her wonder of the truth. "Are you ready to depart?"

| ((OOC: lol no problem))
As Kenshirou heard the information on the mission, this missing shinigami was gone before the disappearances. Maybe he could have been a test subject of some sort, or maybe a coincidence in the matter. Either way it was the sixth division's job to ensure that all shinigami are kept in line. There are quite a few possibilities to what happened and what caused the disappearance of this particular shinigami and there was only one way to find out.
"I am ready when you are, Taicho!" Kenshirou said proudly. He hadn't been on a mission in quite some time and the thought of something like this opportunity to arrive was exactly what Kenshirou was looking for. He reached for the bag amongst his belt, there he retrieved his gigai and gazed upon it reminiscing old memories. He looked at his Captain one last time and gestured for them to leave.
